Ooh, I’ll play!

Wedding Date: February 9, 2013

Engagement Length: 8 months

Colors: Grey, Peach, White and a little bit of Pale Blue

Theme: We don’t really have a theme. I’m DIYing just about everything (is that a theme?). Our ceremony will be on the beach in mid summer.

Wedding Party(#s): 1 maid of honor, 2 bridesmaids, 1 best man, 2 groomsmen.

Ceremony (where, time): 4 pm Kakanui Point, New Zealand

Reception (where, time):  Oamaru (still haven’t booked the hall because FH and I can’t agree on where we want it haha) 6pm

Dress Style:  – strapless sweetheart ballgown.

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Pro for makeup, good friend is doing makeup. Hair will probably be DIY as the wedding will be on the beach mid summer so I just want a relaxed casual look.

Honeymoon Location:  FH is planning the honeymoon and it is a surprise for me!!!!!

Flowers:  There won’t be many flowers and the few that we do have will be handmade paper and fabric flowers.

First Dance Song: Still debating on this one. FH doesn’t like any of my suggestions.

Centerpieces:  I have no idea yet, guess I need to start thinking about it..

Food/Menu: Buffet. FH is a hunter/fisherman so we will have lots of lovely fresh meat and seafood.

Cake Flavour: We are having a cake table with 5 or 6 different cakes.

Favours: I can’t decide. Probably something edible.

DJ/Band/Ipod: Band and Ipod

Bachelorette (when/what): The weekend before the wedding, totally in the dark on this as Maid/Matron of Honor is staying tight lipped

@AlwaysSunny:  My to-do list is HUGE!

We need to find a reception venue, we were going to go look at venues this weekend but we have a 21st on saturday and then FH’s friend is having a birthday BBQ on sunday so that will have to wait till next weekend.

I have to finish sewing the heart cushions that will be on the seats at the ceremony.

I am going to practice making some paper/fabric flowers so I know if I am going to use them or just buy some real ones.

In a couple of weeks I am going to take my BM’s out to have a look at dresses for them.

 Finish designing invites (almost done)

 Buy wedding rings

Figure out how many chairs we will need to rent for the ceremony, the venue has some pews we can use but our guestlist is quite big so we will need extra chairs

Start suit shopping. FH is very tall (6ft4) and very skinny (80-85kgs) so it’s going to be hard to find his suit.

We need to decide what food we will serve at the reception.

 Send out STD’s

 Book officiant

 Decide on ceremony music.

This is going to be a busy month!! We also have a lot of Not Wedding Related stuff to do, like building two HUGE vege gardens and that really needs to be done ASAP since it’s spring now, so after this weekend I imagine we wont be doing any socialising or any fun stuff for the next few weeks haha.

How about you?

@Future_Ms.Bostonceltics:  Yep I’m going to be a real busy little bee (ahahaha). You seem to be doing really well. I can’t wait to get the last few big things over and done with then I can relax a little and enjoy all the DIY. Trying to KCACO but stress is the only way I ever get anything done haha.

Please share some pics of your table numbers when your done, we aren’t having designated seating at our reception (everyone knows each other so we sa no point in it) but I am kind of obsessed woth DIY table numbers at the moment.

Jenniphyr  I love grey and blue together, it will look great for a winter wedding but without being too wintery (IYKWIM). Have you made any paper roses yet? Would you mind sharing a pic? I want to do paper flowers too but I’m not sure how they will turn out.

mrsvelezzz Your wedding sounds so classy and your cake has me drooling, I think the pineapple sounds great but the white choc and raspberry would totally be my pick πŸ™‚

@AlwaysSunny:  this month..pretty much all the big things are booked with deposits.  We have a tasting with the caterer on 9/26, and I’m still doing lots of research on my DIY projects (cardbox, favors, etc.).  Lots of research on dresses/veils/accesories.  I plan on trying on dresses in the next month.

@PrincessConsuelaBananaHammock:  thanks! white choc and raspberry was definitely my first pick – not only was it delicious, but I think it will appeal more to the masses.  The pineapple was definitely good, but I thought it was too specific of a taste for some..BUT FH was so in love with the flavor, that I thought we should get that one as well.
