We JUST got our pix back last night!! I’m most excited to do the thank-you cards. We were waiting for the photos because we want to do photo cards. I’m thinking of doing a small collage of 2-3 pix on the front of the thank you cards, probably through Adoramapix.

I taught my daughters to mail thank you notes as soon as they could, after any gifts were received. For every gift they received prior to the wedding, the thank you note was written within a week. The only exception was for all the gifts my one daughter received at her wedding. She left for a 10 day honeymoon, the day after. They also hosted 225 guests, so thank yous weren’t completed until a few weeks after the honeymoon.

My nephew’s wife talked to me about their thank yous, at my other daughter’s wedding, which was 6 weeks after theirs. She apologized for not mailing their thank yous yet, because they were waiting for their photographer’s photos. They had already received the thank you from my daughter/the bride, since they had sent a gift a few weeks before that date.

I finally got a thank you note from them 11 months after it their gift was sent. She adressed one to our family, and sent it to my house. My daughters were married, lived in their own homes, and each received their own invitations. Just because we all contibuted together, for one large gift, should that result in one thank you card, that we needed to share?

P.S. The bride posted a sneek peak, of their professional photos on Facebook, a few months after their wedding, so she had access to proofs maybe 6 months before the thank yous were sent.

I was planning on waiting for our pictures, but ended up going with a generic thank you in order to be timely and polite.

These are very Piterest haha, but we got many compliments on them. They were printed as postcards so we wrote personalized notes on the back and had them out I think within 6ish weeks of the wedding.

We will be doing photos. Our photog has our pics to us now, 2 weeks after our wedding, but we haven’t received our boxed gifts from the registry yet and are about to head on a 5 wk holiday. We closed the registry late as many didn’t gift and so wanted to give them time should they still wish to use it. A couple did. So, ours will go out 8 weeks post wedding. I’m happy with that given our crowd and circumstances. Most won’t expect them so it will be a pleasant surprise

stephanie091512:  I did this saying. But I’m putting them on each table at the reception next to centerpiece- but still sending traditional thank you cards

I got our Thank you cards at the dollar section at target, 8 to a pack. Major score, one of my first wedding purchases. They’re simple but pretty and because I bought them by the pack, I got a few different coordinating designs.
