- Wedding: October 2016 - His Way Church & Chesapeake Room @ Downs Park
So Fiance and I are getting married this October and we just finished watching Beauty and the Beast (my all time favorite Disney movie) and although I do LOVE our plans for our own wedding, I thought to myself, how cool would it be to have that as a wedding theme?!?!? So I started looking into all kinds of ideas on pinterest and figured I’d share.
If you could do it over again, which “theme” or style would you choose that differs from your own wedding? Share pics/ideas below!!!
Here’s what I found….
Invites with “Be Our Guest” heading:
Cute idea for how to dress flower girls and/or younger bridesmaids:
Or, for a more subtle nod to the film, you could do royal blue for the guys and canary yellow for the bridesmaids, or as your wedding colors overall:
Then comes the centerpiece ideas:
I. CAN’T. STOP!!!!!!!
Your turn, Bees!!!

We are doing a Star Wars theme, but if I had total control I would’ve done vintage Halloween. Halloween is my first love and obsession and when I told my mom it wasn’t my theme she was shocked.
I really like the Beauty and The Beast theme too, cute!

I would love love love a harry potter themed wedding! I feel it would be so expensive to stick to a very specific theme like that though and am happy with what we are going with. However i do want to have some of our photos edited in a themed way. I saw one recently from a couple who had the dark mark photoshopped into one of their wedding photos so i am hoping we can do something like that at least.

Definitely Harry Potter! I love the magical, historical and literary theme.

I’m another Bee who would’ve loved to do a Harry Potter themed wedding. I’m so in love with the series, whereas my Fiance has never read the books and only saw the films because I dragged him with me. We’ve got a few Harry Potter touches (as well as touches from some of my other literary loves) but to do it as the whole theme wouldn’t have reflected my FI’s personality at all

I am doing it again. .. .lol. I had a zero witness courthouse wedding just him and i and the reverend two weeks ago – Military bee here. – So our wedding is going to be next May for a limited group when he comes back from his station.
I want a Secret Garden in MAY! I know it sounds ULTRA GIRLIE. . . but I want the Pink of every shade wedding. Raspberry, rose cream, pale blush, golds and ivory with some peachy pinks too.
Heavily Floral, – minimal guest list. LIKE a TINY room in a brewery or something with enough seating for 20-30. Lovely floral heavy tables. Cutting a guest list down to just immediate family and close friends allows me to have the things I really want instead of sacrificing. – I don’t want a dinner party with dj and dancing into the night.
I want a morning short ceremony at 10 am with a brunch to follow. Omelettes and croissants, muffins and a million cupcakes, Pink champagne raspberry lemonade mimosas! – a beautiful floral topped wedding cake- not sure how many tiers I’d like. maybe 2. I’d like a champage toast and some live music while people eat and chatter. – Then thats it!!
Here are my inspiration photos. I can’t decide between pink or blue dress. I’ve been flip flopping on it for a while now. . .. but I love them both lol. Pink looks better with my skin.

that’s funny you mentioned this. We are doing a Halloween wedding because it was so fitting for us. That’s both of our favorite holiday and I was obsessed with it ever since I was little. My parents were definitely not surprised when I told them that was going to be the theme of our wedding lol.

this is such an awesome theme by the way! Wish you could do it. What theme are you going to be doing instead? 🙂

We are doing mountain cabin feel with some tiny hints of fishing, our fav hobby. It’s classy, but not formal which is what we want. Colors are blush, champagne, rose gold, Marsala, and ivory. Wedding is in Decembe, will be snowy.
But I also would love to do a wedding with bright tropical colors like Aqua, fuchsa, purple, etc and big flowers and on a beautiful warm day.

Sleek, minimal and futuristic. Private courthouse wedding and cocktails and canapés for our nearest and dearest only at an art gallery or similar

I havent been to but I have heard of a wedding here in Australia they booked out Movieworld for the evening and had characters dress up and everything and come around an entertain. It was apparently an absolutely fantastic wedding and so the couple as it was exactly what they wanted. There theme was a childhood dream or something I think, My sister went and said it was just amazing with all the characters and lights around the place.

Lol I agree with the bees who said they would want a Harry Potter themed wedding! HP is what inspired me to become a writer, so it has had a huge impact on my life, and will always be my favorite book series. My Fiance, on the other hand, hadn’t even seen all of the movies until we started dating! While we did agree on a few subtle Harry Potter touches, he didn’t want it as a full-blown theme, and obviously it’s his wedding as much as mine. He actually had the idea for me to instead have an HP themed bachelorette party, which I’m super excited about!

We had a romantic rustic look going which turned out beautifully if I do say so myself 🙂
BUT if I did it again, I would probably go with an urban chic look- industrial loft type space, lots of greenery.

I’m generally not into themed weddings, but I think a Roaring ’20s wedding could be fun. I wouldn’t make it overtly Gatsby-themed (among other things, I think that book portrays marriage in a depressing and negative light), but stationery with an Art Deco look, black/dark navy with gold as the colors, ’20s cocktails, maybe those beaded Adriana Papell flapper-looking dresses as Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, etc., could look amazing if pulled off right. My venue was built in the 1920s and would be beyond perfect for this type of wedding.
