Ours doesn’t have a theme. It makes me equal parts happy and sad to say that.

Ours is a celestial theme- it will be at night in (ideally) this glass walled and ceilinged venue with the stars overhead (and hopefully on a clear night!) Everything will be mostly deep blue and black with jewels, candles, and maybe twinkle lights for stars. I’m hoping to keep it dim in the room and mostly light it by candles.

And I guess I’ll be the moon in a big round white ball gown, haha. I didn’t even make that connection untill now, it was just what I wanted.

Also since we’re having it late in the evening (after dinner time) we are saving lots of money by serving just desserts and not a sit down meal. (which we’ll be sure to inform our guests of so no one comes starving!)

At first I was so discouraged about not finding a theme. I told myself themes were unnecessary… Isnt WEDDING our theme?

now….

Our theme is Michigan Garden….. And all by chance. Because we’re decorating with what we love, and thats how it all turned out!

@artsybride10 i totally did the same thing – who needs a wedding theme!??! – then as we started making our Save-The-Date Cards and invites, and i started creating inpsiration boards it became very obvious we had a natural theme.  we’re going super low budget and very DIY so the burlap and twine elements are cheap! once all of that started happening the wedding transformed into a rustic theme!

I agree, I didn’t really look for a theme, one sort of just fell into my lap as I noticed what sorts of stuff we were picking out for our wedding.  Ours is, I would say, NYC Victorian.  I think it feels and looks equal parts New York and Victorian.
