We had a 5:00 PM ceremony, followed by the reception.  I modeled this after our timeline, so it may not work 100% for you.  Hope it helps 🙂

6:00 PM – Ceremony

6:30 PM – Cocktail hour begins (bridal party takes pictures)

7:30 PM – Bridal party introductions

7:45 PM – Toasts begin while salads/dinner served

8:00 PM – Dinner (after you eat you can go around and greet guests while they finish).

8:45 PM  – Cut cake and serve

9:15 PM – First dance/father-daughter dance

9:30 PM – Dancing

10:30 PM – Bouquet/Garter toss

10:45 PM – More dancing

11:30 PM – Last song/end of reception

Blueshoes’s timeline looks pretty close to what we did.

You may want to factor in a few minutes of “transition time” for guests to leave the ceremony space and make their way to cocktail hour. Guests may linger which could start to cut into your photography schedule.

6:00- Ceremony

6:30- Ceremony ends and guests transition to cocktail hour

6:45- Cocktail hour begins and wedding party phographs begin

7:45- Bridal party introductions

7:50- First dance (we wanted ours here so that it was a natural progression from introductions to our dance)

7:55- Blessing of the meal (if you choose to do this)

8:00- Salads are served; toasts begin after everyone is served

8:15- Main course

9:00- You could do cake here, knowing that some guests may leave after. Or do father-daughter and mother-son dances to “open the dance floor” then serve cake after some additional dancing.

11:30- Last dance of the evening; getaway

I will be stealing these timelines 🙂 That’s when my wedding starts as well (unless I move it back to 6:30 due to heat). Thanks y’all! 🙂
