Tom’s Country Place in Avon is beautiful. What part of Cleveland are you looking for?

@rmg14:  No clue on prices, but I’ve been to beautiful weddings at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens and Windows on the River (in the Flats). The wedding at the gardens was outside and the reception was inside, on the grounds. The wedding at Windows had their ceremony in a church, but I could see them being able to accomodate a ceremony.

Likewise, we’re headed to a wedding at the Glidden House (downtown Cleveland) later this fall, and I expect it to be wonderful. The ceremony and reception are both on site.

In terms of saving money, how about Punderson? That could be beautiful.

(btw, I’m originally from the east side)

Do you still need some spots?  If so, what areas are you looking for?

@rmg14:  I’m doing Windows on the River, both ceremony and reception. It’s not too expensive, although we are doing a Sunday wedding, so there’s a little discount. I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to do their cheaper option for a Saturday. I think it was $66/person for their regular Saturday menu, and for 115 people, including 20% gratuity and the 7.75% sales tax, you’re around $9800. The ceremony only charges you for chairs, so it’s $2/chair, which is around another $230 before tax and tip just for that, but it’s pretty much right in your ballpark. You might be looking at $10,100 when all is said and done.

I’m pretty sure that their packages are plated dinners, the food looks fantastic (haven’t done our tasting yet), and I know ours includes coffee station, coat check, the cake, linens, full bar, and flower centerpieces, so there’s a lot of extras included that you would be saving on outside costs. If you go to the website, the info is right there, just Google Windows on the River. It’s super close to downtown, and pretty convenient for pictures and whatnot.

Hope that helps!

I’m from Youngstown originally (currently living in NC thanks to the Marine Corps) but I went to Hiram College so I am very familiar with Aurora! I would highly recommend Wiegand’s Lake Park in Novelty. They have a beautiful lake with a deck that you can get married on, beautiful grounds to have pictures taken at, and an indoor venue for eating and dancing… or, if you prefer to do the whole thing outoors, there is ample space for doing that too.

I worked there for a summer, and the owner, Wendy, is the biggest sweetheart you’ll ever meet.
