central fl bee here!  we’re doing ours in the in-law’s backyard but I recently had a friend tell me they attended a gorgeous wedding at the Maitland Art & History Museum.  google pics, it’s soooo pretty and seems to have the feel you’re looking for.  I don’t know what the cost is to rent it out but their website says they have wedding packages.

My best friend got married in May at the Palmetto Inn in Bradenton. It was GORGEOUS. https://www.bedandbreakfast.com/fl-palmetto-palmettoriversidebedandbreakfast-details.html#img-1

They had a quick, casual ceremony in the front, under the oak with water views, then a fun reception in the back courtyard. The owner/operators were INCREDIBLE and the space was perfect. Highly recommended. (and I know the bride felt the same way. 🙂 )

Hi Florida Bees!  Born and raised Fla girl tho I currently live in Maryland. I guess I’m having a DW since its in Central Fla. and all the fam is still there.  We looked at a number of venues because we wanted an outdoor ceremony & indoor reception and found that Leu Gardens fit our needs best.  There’s also Bok Tower (Lake Wales), Hollis Gardens (Lakeland) but they’re crazy with their restrictions and too expensive for only a ceremony.  Also check out City of Winter Park which has multiple garden venues but with restrictions also.  Outside of Leu Gardens, these others require a separate reception venue.

Don’t be hesitant to check out private residential areas.  Some do allow non-resident weddings and the scenery can be awesome!(i.e. Lake Ashton in Lake Wales)  Sorry I know very little about the West side of CF so I can’t suggest places in that area.  All I can say is  keep researching, there’s a ton of places!

Now, we also have an $8K budget and girl, its gonna be hard to keep it at that point.  Honestly, I’ve already planned to go over by $1k at least and that’s to cover taxes, fees, tips and whatever extras that come along.  What can I tell you?  8K might be doable but you’ll have to cut out some things and be extremely budget conscious with your spending.

Hope this helps!

Ms_Sunshine13 :  That’s cool but since your wedding is in 2020, I wouldn’t worry too much about Leu Gardens being closed.  Even if the damage was bad its got plenty of time to recover in time for your wedding…just a thought.    I know I’m not too worried…I just booked it for next year.

With regards to family assistance, you can get their help and still have complete control over your wedding.  Maybe you can limit it to certain things like paying for the cake or paying for H&M…things like that that would reduce a lot of your stress.  I do suggest a DOC if you don’t already have a person in place for that.

$3K huh?  I remember a friend did hers on a what I think was a private dinner cruise.  She said it was around $2-3K but that was a very long time ago.  I found this website….check it out: http://majesticprincesscruises.com/weddings/

Would you be open to something like this? This is in Longwood. Having my reception there in May!

Ms_Sunshine13 :  It’s Longwood Community Building! The price is great because it is a “community building.” The woman who runs the place is very nice. My mom, grandmother, and I went to try and look in the windows and she saw us and came out to give us a tour. Looks even prettier in person. 🙂

Also, it has it’s own kitchen! You can shop around for a caterer which definately helps to save money.

We rented out an entire BnB in St Augustine for our wedding this coming March. They handle almost everything. Can’t wait! They’ve made it pretty stress free so far. There are a lot of affordable wedding options and who doesn’t LOVE St. Augustine?! https://www.casadesolana.com/

we got married at the Winter Park wedding chapel. we had about 50 people at our ceremony and then moved over across the street to the winter park farmers market building for our reception.

It was the perfect location, small but very nice. I will leave a link for the chapel below.
