i have looked at so many venues in SD but cant find one that fits my “image”. i really want an outdoor reception but everyone says it will be to cold and maybe rain in march. I really hate the closed in feeling of an indoor reception but if the room is big enough and has an open feel like instead of walls all big windows over looking the bay or something like that it mightr work. I also feel like having both sides of my family and his in 1 inclosed space could be a bad idea…lol.. Have you had or been to a nice wedding in SD please let me know the venue.. and pics if possable? thank you!!!

- Wedding: May 2014 - Paradise Gardens
Have you tried Catamaran? They have views similar to the ones you are talking about. But if you want a tented option Twin Oaks or Green Gables may be a good all inclusive option…. they don’t have an ocean view though, just waterfalls.
Also the venue I am using allows you to rent tents from your choice of vendors, but once again no ocean view but there are lakes and water falls… and soon to be a fire pit!
Hope this helps.

March is definitely not the best month for outside in SD – can be windy/chilly and sometimes overcast/foggy (especially close to the water). Have you looked at the Wedding Bowl in La Jolla? Or the Powerhouse Beach community center in Del Mar? Both are lovely outdoor spaces. Depending on the size of your wedding, you could have both the ceremony and reception at the powerhouse. I got married at the Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla, but that might be a bit too modern for what you’re looking for.

the Admiral Kidd Club has almost 360 view of the ocean! It’s indoors so you don’t have to worry about the weather, but you still get a beautiful outdoor view.

Not sure of your budget or the size of your wedding, but my brother got married at the mission beach women’s club. http://www.mbwcinfo.com/plan.html He only had 50 people there and their ceremony was right on the bay. He did get married in April though.
It was also a nice location because myself and the rest of my family don’t live in San Diego so we were able to rent a nice beach house for an off season price and could walk to the location.

Look at Bali Hai, very resonalbe. They have an inside venue with large glass windows so you feel outside and a huge wrap around porch. Cant beat the view!
