Hi Everyone, I’ve been putting off sending in my songs for MONTHS now. I really want the songs to be great and ones that won’t get old.
I want your opinions on the songs I have chosen. I am unsure if the songs in the Preparations part “flow”. I definitely want the song “Everything” there, because I think it is a nice opening, but I am unsure if “Only you can love me this way” fits following that Michael Buble song, and if “You are the best thing” fits at all.
Let me know your opinions and if I should change anything around or take out / add songs.
Oh, for the ceremony, they just wanted insturmentals, so my musician husband is going to record guitar instrumentals for that part.

renmich88: wow – that’a a lot of songs for a video. How long is it going to be??
I personally don’t like the Bruno Mars song “we’re looking for something dumb to do” – just doesn’t sound like the kind of lyrics I want associated with my wedding.

It’s 33 minutes, I’m not sure if the songs will be played in full or whatnot.. and I have no idea of the purpose of songs throughout the ceremony part since there is talking/music the whole time, but they are super talented.
I know, it’s “dumb” lyrics, but I am sooo stuck 🙁 Any other suggestions?

You can set up cross fades on itunes playlists (or various music apps) which I would suggest doing to see if you like how the songs transition (it won’t be as perfect depending on where your videographers crops the songs but should give you an idea if you like the songs together).
I think you’ve got some good songs but figured I would share a few I really liked and some we used on our wedding day. Not sure if any are what you’re looking for tempo/feel wise but can’t hurt to try. I enjoy looking up covers as well because there are some good ones that refresh even really popular songs.
Holly Maher – Perfect Day (she has a bunch of other ones that are appropriate as well)
Jason Derulo’s Marry Me – or a cover like the one by Davina Leone
Sister Hazel – This kind of love
Kodaline – Latch
The Script – Quite like you
Quirky and pretty upbeat:
Svavar Knutur – Baby would you marry me
Auburn – perfect two
Passenger – I see love

It took me months to come up with my song list. It’s so hard when you actually listen to a lot of songs and realize that most love songs are kinda break up songs?
anyways, I’d suggest
white dress by Ben rector
What I wouldn’t do by Serena Ryder
and thinking out loud by Ed sheeran (I wish this song was out when I got married!)

Thanks guy, I will definitely start youtubing those suggesstions!!
K-labree: That is such a great idea to test out the flow of the music, I never would have thought of that! Thank you!!
gonatgo: Isn’t that so true!! Sometimes you really have to listen to the words, even if it’s a song you thought was a love song all along!!

Our videographers picked the songs for us and we ended up loving them. That’s a lot of stress on you to pick all of the music and when it will exactly be played. Our videographers had us list out our favorite songs/genres and they picked similar stuff. We ended up with Dara Joy’s “Genuine Love” and Riley & the Roxies “Make it Right.” https://vimeo.com/110931938
