I love everything that you have to say in your vows! What you have written is very sweet. There are a few parts that I would change the wording on. What I post is how I think it reads best in my head. Your inflection could be completely different than how I’m imagining it to be so feel free to ignore me if you hate it.

This is how I would probably word it:

There are so many things in life that we can’t begin to understand. To carry me through all of life’s uncertainties I know that I have one sure thing. You are my sure thing. You have been the person that I could count on, always, for everything. You have been the person that I could laugh with, the hand that I could hold, and the shoulder that I could lean on. You are the one I share my secrets with, the one to share my dreams with, and now, the one to share my life with. And I want to thank you for being the person that you are. Your kindness, love, and gentleness have changed me.

For through everything, life has brought us here, to this moment… and I am so grateful for that. Because today, I am standing here, in front of our closest family and friends, and most of all, I am thankful because I get to marry my very best friend today.

I guarantee that we have some very happy days ahead. I also know that there will be some tough times. Through thes happy and tough times I can’t imagine living this life without you. So, from this day forth, I promise to be your very best friend. I will love you and care for you. I will be your hand to hold and your shoulder to lean on. And most of all, I promise I will be your sure thing. The person you can count on, always, for everything, because…

The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that’s what you’ve given me. That’s what I hope to give to you. I love you.

Something about the grammer with your second paragraph rubs me the wrong way, but I can’t think of how to reword that without hashing it up.

My favorite part of your vows is how you refer to your Fiance as your “sure thing.” It’s always nice to know that you have that one person who will always be there for you and love you for who you are. I feel like my Fiance is the one person I can always count on too.

I would only worry about it being too long if you think your FI’s vows will be much shorter than this. Try saying the vows out loud and timing it to see how long it takes you to say them. I don’t think you need to personalize it more unless you want to. Reading them the way they are gives me the feeling that you are trying to reference certain events in your lives that hit home deeply for the two of you.

Your vows express how much your Fiance means to you and your hopes for the future. I love everything you had to say.

“Sure thing” sounds so much less cliche than calling him your “rock”, which is a reference that I LOVE and would love to use, but it IS cliche! 🙁

I love it, I cried, and I don’t think you should change a thing!! 🙂
