@Lala61111: I am SO sorry you had to go through that! I can’t imagine people would be that cruel to ANYONE! I hope that in the near future you and your husband find some time and/or money to at least take a minimoon!

Glad to hear your wedding was great and can’t wait for recaps!

OMG!!!  I’m so sorry.  That sucks so bad πŸ™

I agree that they had no right to deny him. That is BS!! You can even enter mexico on a driver’s license 3 times so I have no idea what they pulled on you!

At least yall made the best of it!

So, did you end up finding out a difinitive reason his passport wouldnt scan? I got mine in 2004 and it scans. Maybe it was deactivated somehow…(if thats possible? lol)

I also cant believe your enhanced trip insurance didnt cover this! What exactly does it cover?? I would throw a fit with someone πŸ˜€

Sorry about that! What a terrible situation. I am glad you got to be with him on the flight anyways. Sometimes customs can be real assholes, and do take things a little too far. Congrats on your wedding day btw!!!

@Lala61111: Oh you should talk to her superior and their superior and everyone you can get ahold of! These kind of situations are what insurance is for!

I’m so sorry sweetie! What a nightmare!

Depending on how much the trip cost, you might try talking with a lawyer if the insurance falls through (pro bono one might be able to tell you if there’s anything you can do).

@Lala61111: Write a letter, write a simple what happened just the facts letter, let the insurance company know, your travel agent, your hotel, your airline, include your contact information all the information of EVERYWHERE you were going to stay/do, and let them know what happened, basiclly a big contact list. Send it out to more than one person in the company, as many as possible.

Send a letter to your local new station. They may just cover your story, and I’d be willing to bet that one of these establishments will partially refund your money. Did you call your hotel to cancel or see if they could help?

I have found writing a letter is the most effective, it may take longer but it works more than being on the phone.

Let us know if you do get this resolved I would like to know.
