- Wedding: July 2012
So, I have been planning this wedding for nearly 8 years now. A number of issues kept coming up that meant it had to be postponed. Now that it’s actually happening, I’ve gotten really excited and I’ve been talking about it to /everyone/.
I really wanted to have a wedding website or Facebook page, because I think it’s a really cool idea, and I want to be able to share it with everyone. Our venue is very small, though. We can fit 70 people comfortably, but we were aiming for a guest list at 50-60. I have a lot of family that will expect an invite just because they’re family, even though we haven’t spoken in years. The same goes for my FH. Even if we wanted to, we couldn’t invite everyone. Coming from a huge family, we’d have around 60 with just blood alone.
So, here is my question – is it in bad taste to share my event on a Wedding Website or Facebook page? I feel like I’m saying, “Oh, you can’t come, but because I’m so awesome, you can watch me plan.” I have no problem with family being involved – from afar, because I know that they will want pictures, etc. But how do I communicate this without sounding like a horrible person?
