If it’s a website, I think you can pretty much tell that story in a blurb above the link to the store where you are registering.  Also register at a home improvement store like Home Depot or Lowe’s.

To break the ice, I borrowed the following quote (don’t know where she got it from) from my sister-in-law and placed on the registry page of our website:

Your monetary blessings are appreciated
Your gifts are welcomed
Your love and prayers are requested
