Hello Bees! Seeking some advice as I’m in a bit of a dilemma. We have booked a villa in Tuscany for a week and originally it made sense to me to host a welcome dinner on the day when MOST of our guests will arrive (DAY 1). It would be a great inauguration for the week’s festivities and a lovely way for guests on both sides to meet and mingle and not have to worry themselves about sorting out supper after their travels. The property is a farm about 20 minutes from town.
But then some guests now appear to have booked their flights so they will be arriving a day later (DAY 2), which makes me wonder if I should move the welcome dinner to Day 2. My fiancé has fewer on his side attending, and a bunch of the guests arriving later are his, then we are kind of missing the objective of helping guests to mingle if I leave as is on Day 1. I’m just weirdly anal and in my mind, welcoming the guests a day later seems odd. Also, it leaves guests that arrive on the appropriate day kind of having to fend for themselves. On the plus sides those who arrive on the first day can maybe have a more mellow night as they will likely be tired from travel. I keep talking myself round in circles.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
