I am getting married on a Saturday in April. Our wedding will go from around 12-5pm. I was just wondering if anyone had ideas of what to do in the evening? I don’t want people to be confused and just go home or back to the hotel. My maid of honor is planning an after-party at a bar. That’s great for our friends, but I’m looking for something a bit more family friendly 🙂 Not necessarily for kids, but for aunts and uncles to enjoy.
I appreciate the feedback! 🙂

why don’t you just have a dinner somewhere at a nice restaurant or have an exstended reception.

thats a l ong day… some guests may just want to go home and relax and do their own thing. I say do an after party and leave an open invite to all.
Some out of town guests may just leave after the reception if they don’t have to travel too far.
Where do you live? That might help us with more suggestions…

I agree- I think inviting everyone to the after-party could work. Our reception is going to be a big meal and LOTS of dessert, so I don’t think people will really want a dinner. Maybe just some appetizer type-things later on.
The wedding is going to be near Wilmington, DE. I’m just trying to come up with ideas, so that my parents don’t get bombarded with a million family members wanting to come to their house after. They are already having an open-house on Sunday, for people who will still be around.

The past several weddings I have been to ( and a few I am going to) have had an after party at bars in the area. All the party had to do was spread the word at the reception. We have had alot of fun extending the celebration, and the bride gets to rock her dress a little bit longer.
