Looking for wedding workouts that you’ve used or use and have seen results. Looking more to just slim the tummy area a bit and tone. Doing this more for beach honeymoon then for my dress to fit. Don’t want anything expensive. I do have beachbody on demand. Suggestions please? 🙂

Do insanity or 21 day fix!! Insanity max 30 got me really in shape for my wedding. I’ve also done p90x, t25, piyo, insanity, p90x3, and I am currently doing the 21 day fix extreme. I have lost 50 pounds and have toned up and I have not set foot in a gym. Be sure to follow the meal plans when you do the program. You can’t outwork a bad diet,I’ve tried haha. Good luck to you!

My dress fits great. I just don’t want to spend a lot on alterations if I lose a ton. But would love to have a little better tummy for our beach honeymoon. Thanks for the suggestions.

I’ve been doing assorted 30 day challenges and I’ve been impressed so far. You can do as many as you want at once, and they include rest days! Right now I’m doing squats and one for arms but there’s a ton to choose from and you can always do them in addition to any other workouts. http://30dayfitnesschallenges.com/challenges/core/

You cannot choose where to lose weight. “spot training” doesnt work.
If you only want to lose a little weight and recompose your body to be more muscular / “toned” as many call it, check out iifym.com for your calories for a little weight loss. and use My fitness Pal to track said calories. Workouts are great, but to get a flat stomach means losing weight, and losing weight means eating less than your burn. 🙂 good luck.

lilo73016: Everyone says that you can not spot train, but that just means that you can’t choose where you want to lose weight from specifically. You can however choose specific muscle to tone up… I am doing Fitness Blender’s 4 week core & lower back program and am already seeing a difference in my tummy in less than 2 weeks… it’s not as pudgy and soft and I am forming more muscles. You may want to look into more strength training targeted at that area. Especially since you aren’t looking to lose weight, you will want to gain muscle to make those areas more toned.

rmr626: can you explain what “tone” is– because honestly spot toning isn’t a thing either. But I’m willing to hear what you think that means.

- 50 squats
- 50 jumping jacks
- 50 incline sit-ups
- 25 push-ups
- 30 lunges
Repeat three (3) times.
I did it for three days every week. I also added an arm workout (in addition to the push-ups) one day per week. Worked for me!

1st – I like Darkhorses exercise set! Maybe adding some jump ropes if you’re feeling ambitious (and hydrated!)
Other posters have given great advice! I’m a fan of the high intensity intervals workouts (HIIT). Think p90x, only in 20 – 30 minutes instead of 60-90 min. One of my favorites are the Livestrong workouts by Nicky Holender. Last year, I did those twice a week, along with hockey and soccer once a week. With a proper meal plan, I dropped a lot of weight, and the muscles underneath look great!
I feel that it is more effective to combine strength training w/ HIIT, and focusing on a different body areas to avoid overtraining. Lots of exercises engage your core, and mixing up back and shoulders, with legs and butt, and arms will give a chance for your body to recover. The last thing you want is an injury setting you back

JoRocka: Well essentially if you do strength training/weight for certain muscles, it will affect those muscle and create more muslce and less fat. Meaning if I workout my arms regularly and lift heavy weight but do nothing for my legs (sit all the time, are in a wheelchair, etc) I am targetting my arm muscles without developing any leg muscles.
I think what the OP was saying is that she does not want to lose weight but wants to gain muscle (become smaller) – weight lifting only affect the target area as far as muscle development… or am I totally missing something here? Maybe it ups your metabolism because you are lessening your body fat/gaining musicle, but you can choose the improve the look/tone of certain body parts by developing muscle there…
