I am getting married May of 2014 and I have 10-15ish pounds I would like to shed before then. <br> <br>
Any other bees looking to lost some weight and wanting to help challenge, inspire and motivate each other? 🙂
Currently, I am 5’8″, 168 pounds and a size 12 (in normal sizes). I would like to get down into the 150s!

Me too exactly! Wedding May 2014. I’m not so focused on poundage as much as I am on measurements. I still fit in all my clothes – I’m a “smedium” sized person, size 6, athleticish, 5’4″ – but can’t lie I’m feeling more fly in the mediums than the smalls in my closet lately so I want to tone up!
I’ve also been healing a pelvic floor injury which is why my goals right now are more to be fit, healthy and active rather than loading myself up with the “I must reduce body size by x%” pressure” bc I cannot get reinjured. It’s been such a long and windy road healing this up. It has been demotivating for me to sit on the sildelines only getting to do yoga, pilates, lower impact dance classes and elliptical while everyone else I know is prepping for Warrior Dashing and Tough Mudding this summer. Boo hiss.
And let’s be real ever since The Chad & I got engaged 2wks ago we’ve been in such a celebration station so I’ve not been particularly careful with what’s gone down my mouth or been diligent at gymming. I need this thread too to stay inspired & motivated!
What are you all doing to stay healthy today? I have to finish up some work this AM, dentist at 10a (ugh) & a meeting at 2p -but- I could get to the gym around 5p before I’m supposed to meet up wtih Fiance around 7.

im 5’9 and 159 pounds right now (uk size10-12) so a us 6-8 i think :S and i love to drop between 10-15 before december 🙂 first dress shopping trip this weekend too, so it will be a wake up call!!
i already hit the gym about 4-5 times a week (mixture of classes and general gym work) and try to eat healthy 🙂 eeek role on december when i get to eat all the cake 😉

@DansGirl: I’m making my first dress shopping trip next wknd bc there’s a Maggie Sottero trunk show at a shop nearbyish. Totally can’t buy without my mom & sisters who I’ll get to see all together in June but figure it’s a good idea to try stuff on and figure out what styles are flattering before shopping for really reals!

Im 152lbs trying to get to 135 by May 23. Wedding isnt until September but we have a trip planned for Memorial weekend.
I started a detox yesterday where there is no meat for the 1st 7 days and a gallon of water a day. So far so good. Lost 2lbs the 1st day. May have just been water weight but losing any weight is good.

My only motivation I can give you is that I was too lazy to workout before my wedding and I regret it after the fact. I look great in my dress, but there are a couple photos of me getting ready, where I’m bending forward, putting my crinoline on…UGH. All I see is pouch!
My husband and I recently joined a gym (on April 4th) and we have been going 3-4 times a week together. He’s a great motivation and we’re both already seeing results (with the help of a much better diet as well!)
Just think of how you might feel after, and how you might regret not taking the time now to workout and eat better! 🙂

It probably doesn’t help you if you don’t have a similar person in your life and is a little mean ngl, but my biggest motivation was seeing an old friend-turned-enemy’s wedding pictures where she did not look fit. So I did my workouts and chanted over and over (usually only in my head) “Look better than XXXX, Look better than XXXX”. Old grudges can be hard to break and the competitor in me really awakened because of that. When I was done I realized that not only did I look better than her, but looked better than I had ever looked before, so sometimes competition can work! (Although maybe try to find a positive way to compete w/ somebody haha)

I’m 5’9″ and 170 on a really bad day, looking to go back to 150!!
I will try and motivate you, but I mostly need a kick in the butt to get going myself so idk how much I can help haha.
Currently I’m doing the 30day shred…but not really following it like I should be 🙁

For things like 30 day shred, or p90x, or any “programs” I find what REALLY helped me was to mark on a calendar when I had done the workout…to see it in front of me visually really helped. I could see “Oh crap it’s been more days than I thought since I last worked out” or “Wow, I worked out the full ten days in a row and it really looks impressive and I’m so proud of myself I’m now motivated to do it again!” It also helped me stay accountable, if I couldn’t mark that day on the calendar off for having done what I was “supposed” to, I felt a little guilty and maybe even went back and did the workout

@BookishBelle: Oh wow really? That is very interesting. Note to self: buy calendar & star stickies, hang in workout room, reward myself with a star when completed a work out!

Have you tried reducing your calorie intake to 1200 try my fitness pall app…it really works.
I lost 11 pounds in 2 weeks by doing an intense diet..
breakfast Smothie: half a frozen banana, 2 frozen strawberries, 8 blueberries. and in a big glass I add the fruit and then milk…..I buy chocolate slim fast and use half a spoon.
Lunch : lean chicken with 3 cups of veggies or salad …or tuckey sandwich
dinner: Pinapple lots of it some times grilled or fresh with salt and lime or diet sugar 🙂
If iam super super super hungry I eat an apple between meals or half a cup of cereal
