love this thread! I’m another self-confessed product junkie. 🙂 Fair skin, slight yellow undertones, normal-dry, sensitive, hormone breakouts, redness issues, lots of acne scars. My daily look takes 20 minutes.

Cleanser: Raw honey (am), CeraVe for normal-dry (pm)

Moisturizer: CeraVe for normal-dry  (am and pm), Elizabeth Arden ceramide serum (pm in the cooler months)

Primer: NARS skin smoothing prep (special occasion, it helps fill-in the scar marks), Too Faced (eye primer)

Foundation: Smashbox BB Cream (daily), Smashbox 15 hour wear (special occasion), both are pricey but last for ages

Concealer: Benefit Fake Up (under eye), Amazing (blemishes), Fake Up is pricey and does not last long, but it’s the only one that doesn’t crease horribly under my eyes, so it’s worth the money to me. Amazing, even the tiny tube, lasts for freaking ever.

Blush: NARS, Illamasqua, and Clinique, depending on what look I am going for. Illamasqua looks super mega bright in the package, but goes on incredibly sheer for great layering. NARS looks mild in the package, but goes on super strong. And Clinique is in the middle.

Contour: NARS, a little goes a long way

Highlighter: Currently using Smashbox and it works fine. I chose it because of the tube packaging, which really cuts down on the mess.

Eyeshadow: No loyalty. Whatever pallette happens to catch my eye. Currently in rotation is a Too Faced pallette that I got for free, Urban Decay Naked Basics, and a Smashbox Photo-op trio. I really want the Stila In The Light pallette.

Eyebrows: Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil (I only need a little fill-in help, so pencil works great for me), Anastasia brow gel

Eyeliner: NARS Larger Than Life long wear (Rue Bonaparte for the under eye waterline to brighten, and Via Veneto for the upper lash line to define), both go on smoothly and stay put all day

Mascara: Still looking for “the one”

Lip pencil: Revlon Color Stay (I haven’t found an expensive reason to replace this one)

Lipstick: No loyalty. I love Tarte Lip Surgence, a Stila lip crayon I’ve had for ages, Clinique Long Last, Buxom and Laura Mercier glosses. I just picked up an Urban Decay Revolution lipstick, so the jury is still out on that one.

Setting stuff: Tarte Amazonian Clay powder in warm months, Urban Decay All Nighter in the cooler months (and warmer months when I need extra staying power)

@gelaine22:  do you use Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation? I’ve been wanting to try it! Right now I’m using Kat Von D Lock-It and I like it but I don’t know if it’s my HG. I like full coverage and want something that lasts all day (Like KVD).

@IzzyBear:  I can’t use the Kat Von D because it’s too matte for me. I have dry skin. I absolutely love the Laura Mercier silk creme! If you have a Nordstrom nearby have them try it on you and give you a sample. Another one I’m going to buy based on a bee (Treejewel) recommendation is Hourglass. I tried that and it was amazing!!!!

@gelaine22:  That’s why I want to try the Silk Creme, because I’ve heard the finish is amazing! Unfortunately the Sephora near me doesn’t carry Laura Mercier and I’m too lazy to drive to the one that does (it’s about an hour away lol) and the closest Nordstrom is about the same distance as the Sephora haha. I think I’m going to order it and if I don’t like it just send it back. I know Sephora is really good with returns.

Not trying to threadjack but does your T-zone tend to get slightly oily throughout the day? If so, how does the LM hold up on those areas?

@IzzyBear:  my T-Zone doesn’t really get oily. However, I do set my makeup with a little powder and carry that with me. I also have a mattifying (think I’m making my own words, LOL) makeup spray: Ben Nye Final Seal. Sephora doesnt carry that particular Laura Mercier foundation anymore.

@IzzyBear:  I see you use Philosophy Purity. I nearly ordered this last night, but was unsure. How do you like it? It sounds like you have the same skin type as me, and it’s hard finding cleansers I like. I’ve actually been using the Johnson’s baby shampoo because it’s been gentle on my skin so far. Would you recommend Philosophy Purity?

@lenabee:  I really like it. It doesn’t break me out or make my skin sensitive. It does a really good job of removing all my makeup too. Well, except for my mascara because The Rocket is crazy hard to get off. It doesn’t dry out my skin, but I still moisturize after I wash my face no matter what I use. The smell is a little weird at first, but now it doesn’t bother me at all. It threw me off at first because it doesn’t really “foam” up or have a lot of suds, it stays pretty creamy, but now I’m used to it. It is a little pricey but I just buy the big bottle and it lasts for a long time. Do you have a Sephora near you? I’m pretty sure they can give you a sample. If not, you can always order the little travel size from the Sephora or Ulta website and test it out. But overall, I really love it and everyone I know that uses it love it too!

Mascara: “Voluminous” something or another, always the darkest color I can get (“blackest black or whatever), I used to pay a ton for mascara but stopped when I figured out the drugstore stuff lasts just as long and looks the same if not better

Foundation: Something professional, right now I’m using Estee Lauder

Lipstick: I’m loving Revlon right now!
