Don’t compare yourself to the other Bees! I could hardly be bothered to do anything about my wedding at all, just was not something compelling to me at all…my Mom and I threw it together in like 45 days, and all I really wanted to was to wear a pretty dress, get married and then eat cake…I got all of that and the rest was totally irrelevant.

My whole wedding was just stuff that we like. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

OMG – I am not doing anything like the bees! I comment on all others posts about their hair, makeup, centrepeices, colors, themes, BUT I am having a very plain wedding! And I am doing it all hopefully for about one thousand ($1000) only!
I do not compare myself to anyone! Neither should you. **xoxo**

@happyface: Yeah! My wedding from start to finish was $1,000!

@Nona99: Should we compare notes? mmmm?

I dunno, even this post makes me feel bad for having a trail mix bar and colors :/ I didn’t think it was something I was “supposed” to have.
I agree though that the Bee just has a frickin opinion about every single thing. Oh sorry you don’t like my engraved favors. Sorry you think this thing and that thing are sooo overdone, or tacky, or a waste of time but sheesh why can’t we all just like what we like (even if it’s trendy) and get support. >End Rant<

@happyface: Hey, whatver works for you! It was just luck and happenstance that everything lined up the way it did! Once Mr. 99 and I decided to take my Dad’s offer of little wedding, BIG honeymoon, it kind of turned into a game of how low can we go!

I’m having my wedding in the public garden (which conveniently will be lit up and decorated for the holidays 🙂 ), my dress is a sample, my bridesmaid dresses are coming from Rent the Runway, my cousin runs a wedding planning business so he set up the photographer and photo booth, invites were via word of mouth and facebook, and my venue is at a five star hotel who is including all linens and centerpieces, etc…
I am actually quite pleased at how little fluff I’ve actually had to deal with 🙂
I think a lot of people here get carried away which is great for them, but I honestly don’t have the budget or the time to get into the minute details…

I was just like you and had a great wedding!

@Glasgowbound: You are actually one step up on me. I assumed my girls knew they were in my wedding and forgot to ask them at all until they mentioned it! I didn’t do a lot of DIY (except the favors, which were Hershey kisses in boxes) and our “theme” was “Hey, we’re having a wedding, wanna come?” 🙂

@gangqinjia: me too. I had mason jars because i think they are pretty and I have a ton at home and i didn’t have to buy a single one. Also, I never liked structured flower arrangements and jars go well with a wildflower look. This post seems a bit passive aggressive, but I’m probably just feeling defensive. Still PMSing 🙂

I made my programs and did my invitations online – that was the extent of my DIY. I’d pretty much rather stick pins in my eyeballs than craft.
We didn’t have colors. I told my bridesmaids to show up in a dress of their choosing. I don’t like it when everyone matches.

- Wedding: January 2011 - Midland, TX
Eh…I just winged it! This was my second wedding and I pretty much already knew what was a PIA and figured out how to make things go a little smoother.
I had 2 wedding colors…purple and black….which shade of purple? All! I did not want to fret about being matchy matchy.
Theme? Uh…did not really have one…
Decor? I just picked out a few things I liked and threw down the money for someone to come in a decorate for me and arrange the flowers….last time I was so fazzled about how all of my DIY stuff looked and how it was displayed…and I did not wanna deal with it at all this time!
I did not have dress regret…I knew exactly what I wanted and got it. Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses? I let them pick their own.
Cake…I paid a friend to do it and she gave us a sweet deal
