I’m a 7 which I know is a lot bigger than some people out there but I don’t feel like my hands/fingers are huge at all. I’m quite tallish (5’7) and my hands are in proportion to the rest of my body. I’m fairly average weight so some people have been surprised that I have a larger ring size

I just measured a few days ago, and it looks like I’m down to a size 7 (started at an 8, with rings typically sized to 8.5, but have lost some weight).

I need to get my ring resized, but I haven’t reached my weight loss goal yet. So I think I’ll get the sizing beads put in. I’m just worried they will be uncomfortable. =(

acglandorf:  After seeing more pics of hands that a person should probably ever see in a lifetime, I definitely believe that the length of fingers really impacts how “big” a hand looks. I’ve seen pics of what look like dainty little hands only to find out the poster is a size 9 and have seen pics of hands that look like they’d be an average size that end up actually being itty bitty.

TheGridMonster:  I totally agree! I have a friend who has a 1/2 carat and it looks huge on her finger because her hands are small and short. I have a 1 1/4 carat and it looks average on my hand. I think length of finger and knuckle size makes a bigger impact on how the ring looks than ring size.

I’m a 3.5, I voted 4 though since my size wasn’t a choice. I’ve noticed in pictures my fingers look average size, but in real life my entire hand is tiny. Although my fingers are average length for my Palm size. I think rings look bigger on shorter fingers even though I’ve heard many people say the opposite.

HopefulCatlover:  I am a size 7 but I feel the same way that you do! I think a size 6 is the norm, every ring ive ever tried on in the store is a size 6.

At stoes like Zales, they have size 7 in their showcases. Shane Co has size 6. I am guessing those are the most common size so that is why they stock that size.

I always feel like I have big hands but when we go into the jewelry store the rings are a “standard” size 7 and they all fit.

My fingers are about a 5.5 at their biggest (hot weather, right after exercising, etc) so I keep my ring at a 5.5 even though it spins a bit most of the time because it makes me a little panicky when I can’t just slip it off.

longtimemrs:  I strongly recommend that you have sizing beads put in or get some ring snuggies! That’s how I lost my rose gold solitaire,  i lost baby weight after having my son and didn’t get it sized down. Don’t make the same mistake, it was terrible!
