Planning on taking the Friday before off, the week after and the Monday after that (flights were cheaper flying back on a Monday). So, 7 days. I still have 9 vacation days & a personal day, may decide to take another day on Thursday too!

We took just short of three weeks off, although it was over a 4 week period. Before the wedding we took the Thursday and Friday off. That was plenty of time and I’m glad we had that big of time beforehand. We then took the next two weeks off and then Monday and Tuesday of the fourth week because of our honeymoon flights. I wish we could have spent longer away but that was because we’d had an amazing time and I didn’t want to go back to work! I think I could have spent a year on honeymoon and still wished it was longer! I think a week is a great amount of time to relax after the wedding and spend time together, if you feel sad going back to work then you’ve had a great honeymoon. Good luck for the wedding.

we took two and a half weeks. I didnt necessarily have the vacation time saved up, but luckily my work was very gracious in giving me whatever time off i requested.

a good three days was just all the wedding stuff, and then we immediately left for europe the night after our wedding day for two weeks.

I’m taking off work Thurs and Fri before our Sunday brunch wedding, then off on Mon and Tues to relax before flying out for the honeymoon on Weds, returning home on the following Sunday and going to work on Monday. 19 days total.

I took Tues-Friday off before wedding (it was 7 hours out of town) and Monday after wedding to following monday for honeymoon.  In all honesty, the second Monday was more to ease transition from vacation to work.

My honeymoon was in the same province so a week’s worth so we were pretty happy with it.

I’m taking Thursday and Friday and Monday and Tuesday. We aren’t doing our honeymoon right away.

moben2016 :  We’re planning to take the day before (Friday) and seven days after.  We get back from our honeymoon on a Tuesday and are both working the next day, which will probably be tough with a 7 hour time difference!

We took the day before off (Friday). We are in the two week gap before the honey moon, so we came right back to work Monday and will be working through next Friday.  We leave Saturday, come back Sunday a week later. We are also taking the following Monday off to recover. I feel like I had plenty of time to do everything. My mother in law did a lot of the last minute work (she was in charge of flowers and favors, and both things were left til the last second… 😐 but she didn’t stress me about it, she just got it done)

Edit: I was also able to set up Thursday night at my reception hall, so most of the work was done at that time, which took about 2 hours.

moben2016 :  I am planning on doing the exact same thing as you are. This will give me enough vacation next year for any other incidentals and other things for the wedding. I get 10 days, but I am saving 3 days from this year (thank goodness) so I have a little wiggle room.

I took a month. It was unpaid but I dont regret it at all (starting 2 days before the wedding and honeymoon was 2 days after)! But Im very lucky that my employer let me take so much. 2 days before should be fine if you are prepared, and make sure you have the next 2 days off after because you will be exhausted (if you arent going away immediately).

We’re taking off the wed-fri before so we have time to drive down to florida (its an 8hr drive) and finish up any last minute details (I have a lot of DIY projects). Then we’re taking the full week after for our honeymoon.

I did NOT take enough time off of work! At the time I was working at a VERY busy clinic (open Monday to Saturday), and was working six days a week. I had to fight to even get what I got!

The two Saturdays before my wedding I took off. I took off the Thursday and Friday before my wedding day off as well. I obviously took my wedding day off…then I took the following week off for my honeymoon. So in grand total: 11 days.

If I could do it all over again, I would have taken off the whole week leading up to my wedding. That way I would have had more time to do last minute things (as those two Saturdays, and the Thursday and Friday before my wedding were REALLY jam packed!)

i took off the thursday before my wedding and then 2 more weeks after the wedding for the honeymoon.

i came home on a friday, so i would have the weekend to adjust to the time change and could do laundry,  have some relaxing time before going back to work.
