My Fiance and I are planning to do a weddingmoon alone. Has anyone ever done a weddingmoon or is anyone thinking about it? If so, where and approx how much? Don’t need exact pricing. Just want to get ideas.
Thanks in advance! 🙂

BritneyG: Do you mean elope and take your honeymoon at the same time? I am sure it’s been done.
Obviously the cost would vary depending on where you live and where you travel.
Have you done a search here on WeddingBee? I am sure you will find threads about weddingmoons.

julies1949: Yes I’ve done searches but not finding what I’m looking for. Certain resorts like Beaches and Sandles have Wedingmoon packages but I want to get an opinions from people who have actually done it before.
As for eloping…. I guess you could call it that but we aren’t really eloping. Everyone was once invited but when people find out you want a destination wedding shit hits the fan and I was just tired of dealing with everyone elses reservations about it.

I am doing a “weddingmoon” next month. We are having a beach wedding on Kauai, with a few family members a day after we get to Hawaii. The remainder of our 2 weeks in Kauai/Maui I consider to be our honeymoon. We didnt do any sort of weddingmoon package, that is not necessary. I found a reputable wedding planner on Kauai through wedding wire and a local travel agent to help with planning our stay – so easy. I cant wait!!!!

BritneyG: We leave for our “weddingmoon” next week. We are going to the Sandals in Antigua for 7 night. With airfare, it’s costing 7k, but part of that is because we chose one of the most expensive rooms in the butler category. There is a room or two higher than that, and all the rest are lower. I think you could do it (depending upon your budget) for 4k. They are paying for all of the government fees, etc. If you want to get an idea, use the “book now” function to see the “real” price–the prices listed as “starts at” are bogus so they can make you feel like you are getting a good deal and don’t necessarily have the rooms listed in the correct order (e.g., we were debating between two rooms, the one we chose was mildly more than the one we didn’t though on the accomodations page it was listed as being less).

BritneyG: Oh, and other locations are less expensive (like some of the Jamaica ones).

We are having a weddingmoon/destination wedding at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica. We will have some guests so we’re paying for a reception, but they offer a small wedding package for free- perfect for an elopement! 🙂 The room itself is 3700ish before airfare (haven’t booked that yet) but it’s an upgraded room…the one before the butler category, I think. I think we are in one of the most affordable Sandals Resorts!

Our original weddingmoon idea was 5 nights out of state, but we decided it was important to us to pay for it ourselves, so it’s now turned into an overnight, in-state trip to a nearby city. We’ll get married in the morning at a historic courthouse with a room set aside for ceremonies and a small photo package, go out to a nice brunch, explore, go to a comedy club or show, stay in a 5 star hotel and do a romantic dinner. We’ll have a small get-together with family members the following day.
Not quite the resort experience you are interested in, but our weekend idea should be about $1,000.

we are having our weddingmoon at sandals negril. Our room is a butler class room and the rate is $5700 for seven nights (this is room rate only, not inclduing any incurred wedding fees or flight).

- Wedding: December 2014 - Maui
We are having a weddingmoon! We are traveling to Maui from Japan in December. So far the flight+hotel+wedding package has added up to around $6800. Most of this cost is just because flights are expensive, especially during the peak season. A weddingmoon is so economical and romantic, and I’m so happy we are doing it!
