I posted a negative comment about Rebbecca Belle photography a few weeks ago. The comment was removed. Weddingwire asked me to send the contract. (fair enough). I keep getting a message that my email to them is being kicked back.(interesting, huh?)
Rebecca Belle actualy posed as me, and worte a glowing review! I asked weddingwire to remove it. It was never removed. I am thinking of contacting the BBB.
I agree that if these vendors are paying sponsors, there is no way a negative review will stay. This site is worthless.

I don’t think all of wedding wire is a scam though. Maybe for paying vendors I don’t know much about that. I know I left reviews for all my wedding vendors fine and I’ve seen quite a few vendors have bad reviews. Plus our brides leave reviews there mostly so we use that as the main review place. I’d email wedding wire about that because if they are doing that it really hurts the vendors like us that get honest reviews up there. I’d hate to see wedding wire showing favorites 🙁

There was a thread about this a while ago. I was really upset to learn this since that is where I found the majority of my vendors. Everything turned out fine, but I wish I would have known that before researching.
I found the thread – http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/do-not-trust-weddingwirecom-reviews

This is a common form of Identity theft, and I’m pretty sure its a no-no

I’ve also heard a lot about this happening on Weddingwire which has led me to not even bother looking at it.
It is really unfortunate though, I trust a lot of what the hive recommends (or suggest I stay away from). I’ll stick to the boards for anything like this.

Hmm I think it really depends. Our photographer has amazing reviews on wedding wire & they came as a recommendation from friends. While I think that some ratings get altered with things like this I don’t think it’s the norm. It’s unfortunate that some vendors have to resort to tactics like this.
