I feel like there isn’t really a recent thread about this, so I’m starting one! I originally did not want a videographer.. we are trying to cut corners where we can. But I’ve seen a couple of wedding videos on youtube and some are soo beautiful, I can’t imagine not having that!
Do any of you recommend Wedit? I’ve only seen one review on here for it and it doesn’t sound like she had the greatest experience with them.
Also, what about Storymix media? Do they rent you out cameras, similar to Wedit, or is it just an app for your phone?
And for those who did have a videographer, what was the cost for them and how long did you have them for?
Thanks for your input Bees!

Hey! I noticed no one replied to your comment and wanted to share with you my experience with Storymix Media. I used storymix for my wedding and they were fantastic! They do send out cameras, just like wedit, but they also have the app which is awesome. I’ve also been a guest at two weddings who used storymix media now, and have loved using the app at their wedding.
I wrote about my experiene with them here: http://sayingidoinnewyork.blogspot.com/2011/07/my-flip-wedding-video-preview.html
Not entirely sure about wedit, but i do know I’ve read some negative reviews and experiences with wedit on here. Apparently they charge a high fee to edit your video after the wedding, but Storymix’s editing is built into the cost.
let me know if you have any other questions!

I’d look into hiring a videographer. A videographer won’t get lost in the mail, and a videographer knows how to frame things as beautifully as possible. Storymix or Wedit can be a great money-saver, but you really will get what you pay for.
When the wedding’s over, all you have left are your memories. Wouldn’t it be worth it to have them captured by a professional?

I ended up going with wedit. I am starting to wonder if I should have gone with storymix media. Has anyone had more recent experiences with wedit? It sounds like the company went through some changes last summer and I am hoping the issues people were having with them before are better now.

I wanted to bump this thread b/c I’m interested to see what others have to say. @saffy what did you think of wedit?

I am actually debating between Storymix and wedflick. I like the 5 cameras option, but at least Storymix has the app.

@saffy: Did you end up choosing Wedit or Storybook? I just booked Wedit yesterday!
