@badabing88:  I don’t have any stories to share. I’m just annoyed as all hell at my boss.

@badabing88:  SO ANNOYING! Mine just asks stupid questions and makes me talk to everyone else because she doesn’t like them and doesn’t want to talk to them.

In our office we have a tradition where if it’s someone’s birthday they bring in donuts (or homemade treats) for everyone.  Well we have one guy who REFUSES to bring anything for his birthday.  Oh, he will eat it when someone else brings them in, but even when we knew it was his birthday he flat out said no, despite the fact we have a donut shop in our building!  So annoying!  He is the same guy who complains about every restaurant we ever go to, even when the food is amazing.

I used to work at an import/export company. My boss’s son has a bad temper, especially with his wife. They would ALWAYS get into fights over the phone. I was front desk and his office was literally right behind me. There were a few times where he would literally clear his desk off, computer and all, slam the phone or throw it, and slam the door. It would give me panic attacks. Then 5 min later he would come around the corner to me and say, “So the wife and I are thinking about having kids…blah blah…we are going to be trying soon…blah blah…I can’t wait to be a father…” Erm, get your temper in check first dude. I would always hold my breath around him because he would throw things if he got mad.

@badabing88:  We have a lady secretary (yes PI but I don’t care, that’s what she is) who answers the phones and does administrative stuff.  We have a company policy that our phones go to “night ring” during lunch hours 12-1 pm (which is her responsibility).  At 11:55 am, I get a call from one of the bosses.  Another coworker called him to ask if the phones were working because he was getting our night ring message when he called the main line from his cell.  Why am I being interrogated as the freaking secretary about the phones?  It’s not in my job description.  Obviously the secretary took an early lunch and put night ring on already.  Why is it my responsibility to check the phones and then call the secretary to ask about it?  Just because I’m another female does not mean you can make me the back up secretary.  I have better things to do.  (You probably have to be in my shoes to fully understand how this went down, and this happens a lot to me)

@badabing88:  We have a pot luck queen in the office too. It’s very annoying. How do you get out of baking? I try, but no one seems to accept, “no” as an answer.

One of my coworkers has a habit of sliding his chair right up next to mine while I’m working. I will be reading something and then *poof* there he is, right in my face with no warning.

I feel you girl! I was surprised this thread had no responses either. I guess everyone else’s work life is just that good! My coworker has a big problem that he’s just an asshole. Its almost comical except that I’m involved. We are working on a project and he seems to not want it to end whereas the rest of us are all tired of listening to him. The worst part is my boss doesn’t stand up to him and neither does anyone else I stood up against himand it got put on a performance review so now I don’t say anything anymore either. Wah!

I am a public employee so we have set pay ranges. There are also classifications and my position happens to be in the lowest classification. We cannot negotiate for more pay and there had not been a raise in 7 years prior to this summer when we received a 1% raise. We then found out that our mandatory retirement contribution has been raised by how much??? You guessed it! 1%. Yell

My Boss is paid in one of the higher pay classifications but she ALWAYS tries to act like she know what it’s like to be required to have a Bachelors for your job but get paid as much as someone with a HS diploma. (I would leave but I like where I work and my job as a whole)

She also has children my age so she sometimes acts like a mother towards me and can be extremely patronizing. When I told her, as a colleague, not a boss, that I was going for my Masters she asked me to give her a list of reasons why I thought this was a good decision for me. Uh no? you’re not my mother and my getting my Masters has no affect on my position or my ability to do my job.

Thanks for putting a post up for me to rant in 🙂
