After getting a $1500 quote for flowers from our florist, I promptly declined and set out on a quest to find a centerpiece that would satisfy my champagne taste on a beer budget. LOL. Well after several ideas, I finally settled on the ever popular pomander centerpieces. I really wanted a more natural looking centerpiece so I decided to leave the leaves on. Also, I am so stoked at how well they came out that these babies will be doing double duty! I am going to put them down the aisle on the ground and then they will be going atop cylidrical vases for the reception.
Here’s my inspiration, two per table (one larger, one smaller):
Before the reception they will be placed down the ceremony aisle like so:
Here’s How they came out! I used 5″ diameter styrofoam balls. Simply snipped the flower stems to about 2″ long and stuck them securely in to the ball. I left a 4-5″ open area at the bottom a) so they wouldn’t roll around when sat on the ground b) so they would sit securely on the cylindrical vases and c) because I don’t have to use and many flowers. I think I’ll do an assortment of 5″, 6″ and maybe some 8″. I love how they came out!
