I have decided this year to take the Princess Margaret Weekend Walk to End Womans Cancer September 11th to raise money for this devastating illness. Last year my aunt had a mastectomy and is now in remission. From that time I have vowed to do everything I can to contribute to finding a cure for cancer. Each and every one of us knows someone who is or has been affected and I am trying to contribute to change on September 11th. I will be walking, along with some other strong woman, 35 kms in the name of the cure.
Wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for fundraising. Ive already raised $1900 from the basic sources, friends and family. I really want to make an impact this year though!

My friend is doing something similiar for the LLS Society. She did a garage sale and asked friends and family to donate items for the sale. She had lots of items donated and made almost 2,000. Then she did a crawfish boil at her parent’s home 4 hours away and sold tickets to it and did raffle prizes. Then she did a spaghetti dinner here and sold tickets. She raised another 2-3K between those two events. She did show a movie at the spaghetti dinner and a resturant donated the food so that cut costs.
You could do a movie on the lawn and sale popcorn and candy. People tend to give more when they feel like they are getting something in return. If that makes sense. Like people will buy dinner tickets and then turn around and spend more money on silent auction items and such.
