**after you had your baby how long did it take you to lose the weight ? if you have more than one kid and you had them at different times in the year, do you think it makes a difference on how active you were and if that made you lose weight faster. did it just happen for you or did you have to work at it. & do you think breastfeeding makes a difference ?
– i am due in the middle of december and i was pretty thin to begin with, so getting this weight off is important to me. (total freak when it comes to body image, not always a good thing)

I think it all depends on your regular metabolism, how much weight you gained during pregnancy, where you gained it at, if you were in good shape pre pregnancy etc. Those are all factors.
I didn’t gain much, only in the belly and breasts and I was thin to begin with so I got pretty lucky. I actually weighed a few lb less post partum than my regular pre pregnancy weight. I went home from the hospital in my regular jeans and my stomach was completely flat within about 2 days.
I wouldn’t stress too much. I’d just eat healthy, no dieting of course if you plan to breastfeed. Just lean meats, lots of fruit and veggies, plenty of protein, whole grains. When you get cleared for exercise, just start with light cardio or whatever you have time for while taking care of a new baby. We’re not celebrities, no one expects us to bounce back like supermodels immediately. I honestly think it comes down to a combo of genetics and what type of shape you were in before conceiving.
