This thread is so interesting! I’m at 11 weeks and I’m up 1 pound overall. The first few weeks I lost about 3 pounds or so, probably from not drinking alcohol and cutting out all the fancy coffee/tea drinks I’d been having that had a bunch of milk and sugar. I’ve gained that back now, and 1 pound more. I’m short (5’2) so I do feel like I notice every pound. Now that I’m feeling better I’m back to working out 3-4 times a week with my trainer, so I’m hoping to keep the weight gain healthy.
ETA: I was a normal BMI before pregnancy. Not too thin, not too heavy.

19 weeks and up 1 lb. I was told at my last appointment 2 weeks ago to try and gain some more weight in the coming month, and I’ve genuinely been trying (whole milk, more snacks, and I just came back from stuffing my face in Disney world). I was up 3 lbs right after vacation a couple of days ago but back down today. My belly is definitely growing though. We have an ultrasound next week, so as long as baby is measuring ok I’m not that worried.

I’m 10 weeks, and I’m definitely getting cuddlier in the midsection (lol), but I’ve lost 2 or 3 kilos from vomiting. My understanding is that as long as it is steady and you’re not eating burgers for 40 weeks you’ll be fine. I’m growing my baby on a diet of cheese and fries, mostly. Everyone is different, just listen to your body. If you have concerns chat with your MW/OB/Dr.

Thanks all! My waist is pretty much gone, and I am 2 lbs up at 13+2. I just ate cheesecake too, which is just about the worst thing to eat! lol
I got clearance from my doctor before engaging in any exercise. I used to run long distance, so the elliptical is a pretty chill for of exercise for me. I am also only doing 8 lb weights in each hand where before I would do 15 lb weights. I am sure I will go up a lot, but I am trying to keep it within a healthy range.

It’s hard to nail down a number for me, because it literally just flucuated. I’d go up 3 lbs, then down 2, then up 4. It was all over the place in the first trimester but that is typical of my “pre pregnancy” body anyways.

I gained no weight in the first trimester and a modest amount in the second and third. I didn’t get that big overall until the end and the morning after I had the baby I was back to my pre-pregnancy clothes. I was a little sick post partum so I think I lost a bit of extra weight as well. My mom and most of the women on her side were pretty well the same so I have to wonder if there isn’t a bit of genetics involved. It might be worth while checking to see how the women on your side coped with pregnancy weight.

First trimester I barely gained… maybe 5lbs?
2nd I gained 1-3lbs a week. And the 3rd was a mess lol. Some weeks I’d gain like 5lbs. Although, I was so good for the first two trimesters, eating healthy and exercising, then when the third rolled around I was so uncomfortable and just caved to every craving. I gained about 60 lbs overall. It wasn’t good and I felt gross. Definitely doing things differently for the next one!
