Lalavla:  This happened to me as well – BC removed after wedding.  Though I also think I put on a few pounds becuase the wedding was over! The stress for the big day wasn’t there anymore, add winter and holidays to that… I def ate more than I did right before the wedding! So, your weight gain might be partially due to hormones readjusting, but look at other things happening in your life too.

Lalavla:  I didn’t gain any weight either. Sounds like it’s more likely that the weight gain is post-wedding weight gain than post-BC pill! Did you and your husband live together before you got married? A lot of people gain weight when they move in together too, so maybe it was a combination of all of those factors.

Lalavla:  This is what Darling Husband and I are planning to do after my next cycle, get me off BC that I have been on for the last 13 years. I like how you prhased it, ha. Even if we wait another couple months before we actually start TTC, at least I’ll be off what will for sure prevent it… so trying, but not trying until we are offically trying. If that makes sense!

I am also concerned with weight gain, as I have gained some weight since January (wedding was last October). It’s not the amouint you have, but the 5lbs. has really hit hard in certain spots so a lot of my clothes are tight. I’ve been struggling to lose it (plus abother 5lbs. that I’ve always worked on losing)… but no luck. I work out and east sensibly… definitely at a plateau. I just started eating more low carb in hopes that changes something. So, if I gain anymore after going off BC… I am very afraid of that. I’m fairly active.

Lalavla:  I gained 15-20 lbs within 6 months after our wedding and stopping BCP too.  I mainly attribute it to worse eating habits, less exercise, winter, and holiday time.  I’m still within the healthy range for my height (BMI is around 22.5).  However after about 6 months, my cycles became irregular.  I went to the doctor and found that I have PCOS.  I don’t know how much of the weight gain is due to PCOS, but just make sure you keep on top of any other symptoms and go to the doctor if anything else weird shows up.

Lalavla:  Youre welcome!! Im a few months behind you. just got married, not quite off BC yet and trying to be mindful that just cause I dont HAVE to still fit in my wedding gown, I could still… I guess… so ill keep an eye on portions, and keep up my running and weight program!

Yep…I went off BC just because I didn’t like taking it, I didn’t like how any of them affected me.  As soon as I stopped taking it, I put on 25 lbs and I am having a really hard time getting it off.  Most women complain about gaining while on BC, I was just the opposite!

Lalavla:  I just posted something like this a few weeks ago! I went off Nuvaring and gained almost 15 lbs in about a monthish (I think). At first I thought maybe I let my diet go a little too lose but I’ve tightened that up and shaped up with my exercise which has always brought me back down to my comfortable week and I have seen no progress in the last 3 weeks. I’m almost at the point where I want to go back on it just to see if I lose those pounds again.

Ugh… it’s frustrating!

Lalavla:  This same thing happened to me! I lost some weight with this last BC pill(LoLoestrin)I was on, which was for 5 years. I thought it was weird because I’ve heard of people gaining weight, but not losing it. I was 220 lbs. when I started that pill. I had cut my portions for eating, but I didn’t eat anything different. I still ate ice cream,  chips etc. and I got down to 149lbs. within a year or so. It just kept melting off. I did gain a bit of the weight back by the time I got married in June 2014. I was about 160lbs. My wedding dress was a size 12. So from June 2014 until now I’ve gained another 30 lbs. and now in a size 16, which are starting to get tight. I know I hadn’t been watching my portions as much since I got married, but I didn’t think I would put on weight this quickly. I think 20lbs of that I put on in the last 4 months. At the end of this past May I stopped my BC so my Darling Husband and I could start TTC.

Some of my clothes I can’t even wear anymore. I can also tell because I was a cup size C a year ago and a D this past May and now I’m in a Dear Daughter or a DDD depending on the style bra! My thighs are even rubbing together now! And no I’m not pregnant. Lol I wish.

I’m glad I’m not the only this has happened too because its pretty crazy!
