I didn’t gain any weight after going on the pill, which so many had warned me about. I was shocked when I gained 10lbs after going off of it. It stuck. I had to work hard to get if off and (before getting pregnant) I had to go to the gym 2x as much to keep it off as I did when I was on it.

Sorry I have no good news.

Me! I just went back on as of two weeks ago…to try and reverse the madness!

I gained 25 pounds in about a months or twos time and my stomach was uncomfortably pregnant looking. LIke my jeans fit my legs, but not my waist. My diet and excercise remained the same.

I would get checked for low progersterone/estrogen dominance.

Huh. I gained weight going ON the pill, but there was about a 6-8 month delay before it happened. Similarly, when I went OFF the pill, it took about as long for my weight to drop back to normal and for my menstrual cycle to readjust. (Seriously, I didn’t get my period for an entire summer!) Probably took about 9-10 months for me to notice hormonal acne again.

Since it’s only been a month, I would wait awhile longer. I think it just takes awhile for our bodies to catch up to these things… sorry that you have to go through grossness first :/ Maybe your transition will be quick!

It may even itself out for you! Definatley wait a few months ๐Ÿ˜‰ Its worth tracking your weight, and also keeping track of things like headaches, leg cramps -and just pesky things that perhaps don’t usually happen to you

Basically I was one of those people who never gained from BC pills and I could loose weight if I tried to. Its been about a good ten months since I have been off, and weight wont budge, my periods were horrendous without the pills, which was somethign I didn’t have before. Extreme bleeding and cramping.

Hmm, this is interesting.  I have never heard of people gaining weight from going OFF the pill; certainly from going on it, but not off.

I went off the pill about two years ago, and I actually lost 5 lbs without even trying.  (Not saying that to be a jerk; I am typically NOT someone who loses weight easily.)  The pill threw my hormones all out of whack (for YEARS), so I think my body rejoiced when I went off and released some weight it had been holding on to…

ETA: I agree to give your body some time to adjust.  I understand that it’s frustrating & probably makes you nervous, but your body is going through a period of change.  I wouldn’t be surprised if this weight is just bloat that drops after your body “evens out” and finds its natural rhythm again.

This varies so much person-to-person.  I gain weight ON the pill and lose weight OFF the pill.  I think it’s really hard to make generalizations. Either way, it sucks though.

I felt 100% better after going off the pill, didn’t feel bloated or anything.

I came off the Pill in February this year and I’ve definitely put weight on (probably about 7-8 pounds) but having said that, some of it was weight I’d lost in the month leading up to my wedding and in my defence we’re just coming out of winter ๐Ÿ™‚

I find that the bloating comes and goes during my cycle.
