mrsrhyno:  I agree, form is really key or else it’s so easy to get hurt. If  you have good form, your lower back shouldn’t hurt, you should be pushing through your heels, squeezing your butt, keeping your knees out when you come up, etc. A lot of people bend too far forward, and let their knees curl in when they are coming up and that is bad bad bad!

My max 1 rep squat right now is 135lbs. Which sometimes doesnt seem like all that much because there are a lot of seasoned weight lifters at my gym…and my husband can squat like 500 pounds! But I weigh about 115, so I think being able to lift my whole body weight plus two of what my cat weighs on my back is pretty good for lifting for a year!
