@Jilliebean1:  It really depends on your body type, where you carry your weight, etc. I lost about 13 pounds over the span of 8 months and went from a size 6 to a size 4. I’m also prerty tall (5’8), so someone who is 4 inches shorter than me may see more of a difference in size.

I’m 5’10 and it takes about 15lbs to go down a size…kind of sucks actually. I feel so accomplished when I lose weight but NO ONE can tell but me! It really depends on your body type (size, how much muscle you have, etc)

I lost 25 pounds and went from a pants size 12 to a pants size 6. Dress size 8-10 to size 4. I’m 5’2″ and pear shaped. I went from 150 pounds to 125 in about 10 months and have kept it off for about 6 months so far 🙂

I’m 5’3″ and I see a dress size with every 7-10 pounds.  Just lost 6-7 pounds and I’m down from a 4-6 to a 2-4.  Another couple pounds and I’ll be comfortably in the smaller end of the size range.

I think it also depends on if you are losing weight because of diet versus exercise.  I know a lot of times when adding muscle you might not see the scale go down, but you do drop inches.  I actually think working out with weight bearing exercise is a critical piece.

I tend to notice it with each 10lb loss.

I’m 5’5″ and noticed it with about every 10 pounds.  That was with calorie counting and minimal exercise (yoga three times a week).

@Jilliebean1:  I think it depends what size you’re starting at. Going from a  pants size 18 to 16 might take 20-25 pounds, but going from a 14 to a 12 might only take 10 pounds (or at least, that’s how it seems to me). I’m always a smaller dress size than pants size, given hat I carry most of my weight in my middle – and I never see as much change in dress size as I do in pants size!

Since I hold just about ALL my weight in my stomach, I drop a dress size about every 5 lbs.

I go do a size about every 10-15 lbs, but like other bees said it all really depends on your body type and how you carry the weight.
