I would like to maintain the weight that I’m at right now, but I want to lose the fat that is on my upper thighs … the glutes and tone it too. It kind of looks flabby but the rest of my body is more lean.
How do I go about doing this? I know that to get rid of fat on my thighs I should not eat fatty foods …. but that will make me lose weight if I’m toning and doing cardio daily.
Is this possible? How? I wish I could talk to a nutritionist who knows these things!

Start doing squats and other upper leg workouts. Also, while just sitting around, do some squeezes to work your glutes…same concept as kegals. “Pinch the Penny” as my cheer coach used to say. Believe it or not, it works.

I’m a registered dietitian. Unfortunately, there’s no way to lose weight or fat on a specific area of your body, except for breastfeeding an infant – targets hips and thighs. Save nursing, you just have to eat less calories than you use. If you cut back even 100 calories daily you’ll lose 20 pounds in a year.

Breast feeding makes you lose in the hips and thighs? Cool. Ok!

As a trainer – I recommend doing your cardio (to lose fat) and fitness training (squats and lunges to tone the hip and thigh region) and then try to increase your caloric intake to match your caloric burn and therefore you will maintain weight!
If you have any more questions about how to do this specifically PM me!

Ok. Thank you! I will try that out and pm you with any questions. I guess a log of what I eat is in order? ….

Calorie counting is the easiest way to know FOR SURE how much you are putting in your body!
So you can count how much you put in and you can calculate cardio caloric expenditure on the machines and you can guesstimate your weight training caloric expenditure!

I’m a firm believer in yoga, it tones and tightens while keeping me sane and calm at the same time! It is a fabulous stress buster.

I’ve been doing tons of squats and lunges on my Wii Active and have noticed a big difference in the areas you want to target.
