  • Buying a pastry and cappuchino on the way to work every day to cheer myself up!
  • Snacking out of boredom at work
  • Having a treat every night after dinner, usually chocolate

Being a lazy ass.  I don’t lose much from diet, its gotta be exercise for me.  So when I don’t work out, I pack on the lbs.

@BIW:  Parties and vacations. Fun stuff, I am not an emotional eater.

Alcohol!  Tons of empty calories I didn’t need.  I’ve had great luck keeping a food journal of every bite that goes in my mouth.

eating a lot at night helped me gain a lot of weight.  Not monitoring my portions also didn’t help.

My Fiance and I were talking about this just last night, as we’re approaching our weight loss goals (he has dropped 20lbs; me, 12lbs).

We really chalk it up to too much chocolate. Chocolate before dinner, chocolate after dinner in the couch. Everything else we can manage, and we’re really active.. although we’re planning to increase the amount we go to the gym in the winter months (something we find difficult to get the willpower to do after spending the day active outdoors).

So many things contributed to me gaining weight.

I looorve cheese – so hooking up with a fellow cheese and wine lover did not help my waist line.

Eating carbs all the time. I really have to limit my carbs on a daily basis which is not easy.

Being plain lazy, it takes time and effort to be fabulous!

Booze!!! I love love love sharing bottles of wine with my Fiance and friends. Now that I don’t drive I can literally drink whenever I like. I also work in advertising so everyone is constantly drinking at lunch, events etc.

It is so good to know your weaknesses, so-to-say.  For me, I cannot get too hungry.  I have to manage my hunger throughout the day, otherwise I end up eating a bunch of unhealthy things.  From the moment I get up I have to “manage” the beast.  Yesterday we were working on my Volvo, and sure enough, I went most of the day without eating because we were busy, and covered in grease.  When we went to buy an extra wrench I bought three things of candy – at that point self control was out of the question.

Also, my weakness is night.  I LOVE eating at night and so does Darling Husband.  I try my best to manage throughout the day and save some night calories, or- in the best of circumstances, I eat a huge bowl of organic carrots and dip I make myself with yogurt.  I like to have something to just cut loose on at the end of the day and carrots- not baby carrots, those are gross to me- is a great option!  I buy a big bag of ogranics and julienne them.  SO GOOD!

I also cannot have too strict of rules for myself or I will break them.

I also tend to fall of the wagon- if I let myself do whatever for a day, sometimes it turns into two or three… weeks, that is :/  So I have to be careful to manage healthy eating all the time.  For me it is about finding a system that works for life, a sustainable eating system.

What does help me is managing throughout the day, lots of protein, and making better choices when I DO want or need to cut loose (like organic frozen yogurt or baked chips with fresh salsa).

-Carbs, carbs carbs. Pasta, bread and butter, cookies, cakes. I have to limit what I make when I could pasta cause I would eat the whole pot myself.

-Emotional eating. I eat when I’m stressed or worried. Lately I’ve bin trying to make my self drink water when I feel these urges instead.

-Eating like my husband. Hes alot bigger then me height wise and can pack away food like no ones buiness. He loves things like Taco Bell and ordering pizza. Also hes a enabler, like on our honeymoon I became obessed with this frozen yougurt place across the street from our hotel. He took me there every night cause he knew how much I love it.

Pasta, pizza, cheese + booze. Preferably all at the same time.

I’ve definitely learned my limitations for weight loss.
