When I was in college, I lost about fifty pounds…unfortunately, since then my motivation slipped and I gained it all back plus some extra. I’m back at the weight loss thing for my wedding–and my health in general. A sedentary desk job is not the best, so I’m adding back in walking every day!
UGW: 130 (I actually got down to about 125 when I lost weight when I was younger, so I know this is doable if I work hard!)

I was very active in sports in high school and for 2 years of college, but then I gained about 30 lbs over the course of 3 years from hypothyroidism and screwed up hormones after I quit swimming. I finally feel like I’m able to make some progress now that i’ve been on meds for about 15 months, it took a long time for it to get out of control so I know it will take some time to get it all back under control.

jesssamesssa: H’okay. So I’m 5’2, my SW was 180 pounds (scary but I do carry my weight veery evenly). CW is 156-157 lbs. GW is somewhere around 135 (and then I will reevaluate my goals and see if I need to lose more). Bottom line; I’ve dropped almost 25 lbs in just under 3 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fiancee and I are getting back on track. We both gained a lot over the holidays…I got up to 170lbs and I’m 5’4″. My goal weight is 140 right now I’m at 166. We did paleo for a few months and likes it though we did overindulge in all the wrong foods and then sort of fell off the wagon for a few weeks. Now we are doing a ketogenic diet, low carb, moderate protien, high fat and I’m working out again. It’s only been a week, I haven’t weighed myself again as I use the scale at the Publix I go to instead of buying one. Today and yesterday I’ve had what’s known as the keto flu, flu like symptoms that come with detoxing our bodies of sugar, carbs and other junk. I’m not going to give in at all, I want to push through this and develop healthier habits for the rest of my life!

PunkRockPrincess: Hi! Always happy to share; I’m kind of doing a very simple routine. Walk a minimum of 30 minutes per day, any additional exercise must be extra! E.g. if I go for a swim, it does not let me cut out my daily walk. I make myself squeeze in more exercize this way!! As for diet, I basically eat smart? No white starchs, no processed foods. Lots of veggies, fruits and lean meats. Dark chocolate is my treat food and I let myself have a square whenever I want, as long as its not more than once a day. I never restrict myself when I’m out with family/friends – if there’s a pie, sure I’ll have a slice! But maybe just a small one 🙂 I just don’t want to be “dieting” anymore.. I don’t want food or my weight to have the control that I’ve given it my entire life so far. Anyways, I hope this helps!

HippyBunniesinLove: Sounds like you nailed it! I have been trying to make myself walk an hour every day but missed the last 2 days due to rain. I love walking and have a toddler, so it is great for both of us to get out.

Thank you for sharing! =)
