Hey there Bees!
I know that most every bride tries to get in shape or loose weight or both for the big day. Here are some of the things that I am doing, and they have been fun and nothing like a “diet” or anything like that. Hope they help!
First – for the past few months, a group of ladies at the office has been doing a group thing – the firs month was individual with a end pot of over $500 – the second two months was teams – winning team gets taken out to lunch by the loosing team and for October we are doing pairs – we go off of percentages lost so that it’s pretty even – everyone has lost at least something and so far I’m down like 10 pounds (my birthday weeks – I take 2 to celbrate – fell in and so I had to work like crazy to loose what I gained back)
Second – a few ladies from the weight loss group and I have taken hikes and walks and played tennis on the weekends – it’s fun because we get together and laugh and exercise but it’s fun!
Third – I have a few friends that email throughout the day that are spread across the country and we email out food diary every day to one another. It’s one thing to write down what you eat, another to have to tell people what you are eating – Totally makes you think about every bite you put in your mouth.
Fourth – My daughter and I will walk to our local Target with our green bags, pick up a few things we need and walk home – it saves gas money, gives us some time to hang out and saves money because you can’t buy anything more then you are willing to drag home with you!
Fifth – I get on the scale every day – I’ve been told NOT to do this as it can cause you to throw in the towel as you aren’t going to loose every day, but for me, it totally helps to know that I’m on track or reminds me that I need to get on track.
Sixth – I email out to the girls different tips every other day or so that I find in Fittness magazine or on line and others email as well – it helps to have different ideas as some work better then others for people.
Finally – The ladies in the weight loss group have all taken the clothes that are much too big for us now and either given them to a clothing closet, the Goodwill, or sold them at yard sales – if you don’t have fat clothing, you can’t be fat – or at least that is our thought.
I know that we all pretty much know this, but sometimes it helps to see things in a new light.
Is anyone else doing a group activity or joining up with others in the goal to get ready for the big day?
