Well in my case, it’s off the computer chair and onto my elliptical, but I assume that counts.

My Fiance and I both want to lose some weight before the wedding, and we also want to be in good shape to hike on our honeymoon, so that provides motivation. Also, we compete every week to see who has worked out the most and the winner gets a reward. So far it’s working really well. I did 30 minutes on my elliptical today and my Fiance is on it right now because he doesn’t want to lose again this week!

Nothing lately!!!  My wedding is in 4 months and I have been HELLA lazy! It’s terrible.  I’ve changed my diet a bit for the better but I’d like to tone up a bit.  I BETTER get a move on stat! Esp. with the dress fittings coming up!!

@Lemma: Good idea!! What has the reward been ๐Ÿ˜‰

@heyitskate:

Well if I win, then he has to feed the cats for the next week. If he wins, then he gets a sex anytime coupon. He is completely fine with this reward structure by the way. Wink

@kfiorita:

Maybe you could compete with yourself in some way? You could set yourself goals and then pick a reward to give yourself if you meet them. As long as the reward isn’t food…

@Lemma: I guess that would work!  But as soon as I think reward… I think chocolate lol  I just wish there was a way I could get my SO interested in exercise again.  He use to be soooo fit when he played football but now that he works full time he doesn’t do any exercise and says he is too tired!  He tells me that he will start looking after himself better when we move in together (we both still live at him) but I don’t understand what is stopping him now!!! BOYS lol!!

Looking at old pictures and current pictures, I see how pretty I was and how much I let myself go now.

@kfiorita:

I know what you mean about chocolate. I’m totally the same way! Since I’m trying to avoid chocolate these days, if I really want a treat, I have a glass of wine. But you know what? If you set your goal high enough, then one little chocolate bar a week as a reward won’t be a problem.

Or, do you have a favourite t.v. show? Before the competition, I would only allow myself to watch a certain show while I was working out. That helped.

Well I have my own home gym. I don’t know if I could handle going out to a gym anymore. At home I can do as I please, dress how I please and not wait for a turn on the equipment. Over the years I slowly built up my collection of fitness DVDs – everything from Pilates, yoga, stability ball, core fusion, step-aerobics, etc. I bought a used Bowflex, I have a step platform, stability and medicine balls, kettlebells (my newest obsession), dumbells, resistance bands, etc. What gets me motivated? The fact I am 54 years old and can wear size 6 jeans. The fact I can out-pace most teenagers and young adults on really rough hiking trails. The fact that unlike many of my peers, I do not need any prescription drugs and very rarely get sick. For me, the fact that I feel like CRAP if I miss more than a few days of exercise is motivation enough!

I gained a lot of weight when I had my son (I gained about 85 lbs!!). I have tried soo many diet programs (herbal magic, weight watchers, no carbs, getting a personal trianer etc) now I am trying to plan called body by vi, so I am hoping it will work! I find exercise is my down fall, I cant help it im just way too lazy!

I’m on WW and seeing the number on the scale go down every week is really inspiring.

I also use older pictures as a motivator. I used to be such a looker and had no idea at the time.  I want that back!  I can’t wait for my face to thin out and my collar bone to re-emerge.

Also like to add that seeing my engagement photos come in really hit home.  I got really upset over how I currently look and am using them as motivation to get this done.  It’s really beyond time to do something about it.
