I used an ap on my phone to track my calories for almost a year, and lost 45 lbs

I have found that I get the quickest and best results using a combination of calorie tracking using the free MyFitnessPal app, lifting heavy weights twice a week, and doing cardio 2-4 times a week (running, spin class, swimming).  I also threw in a yoga class every now and then.  My weight didn’t go down as much as I thought it might, but I lost more inches and a few sizes from the weightlifting.  I guess I’d rather be a very trim & toned 130 than a skinny-fat 120!

I didn’t do a program but I worked out with a personal trainer 3 times a week and changed my diet before the wedding.

Using MyFitnessPal. It’s been two weeks. I am constantly hungry. On the bright side, I have lost 2lb. So… only about another 6 months of diet to go, then…

I recently joined Weight Watchers & a gym.  So far on ww I’ve lost 10 lbs and to be honest I’ve been really lazy about going to the gym.  I’m going to start going to the gym again this month.

@Rachel631:  Have you increased your fiber and protein intake?  That should help with the hunger.

@Rachel631:  I always made it a goal to go over the protein rec.  Also, do you adjust your calories for exercise?  If you don’t eat back your exercise cals you’ll end up with a significant deficit.

@dominicanbride16:  I wouldn’t do it, basically because when you crash your metabolism does slow down.  The problem is that after the wedding, with a slower metabolism, you will gain back what you lost but it will be even harder to lose the second time- due to the slower metabolism.

@dominicanbride16:  I used Loseit. It’s similar to any of those weight loss ones though. You put in your current weight and what you want to weigh, and how much weight you want to lose per week, and it gives you a calorie budget. You add all the food you eat in the day and all exercise you do. It helped me realize my portion sizes were way off.

No sugar or white bread/simple carbs. Oh. My. Gosh. I never lost weight so fast in my life. I was 118 and I went to like 108 in less than two weeks. I didn’t lift a finger. I couldn’t lose weight before that; it’d been stuck for a long time at 118. But I didn’t have much of an appetite because I was so restricted, so I also ate less in general… plus you might feel kinda pissy for a couple days. haha. It’s really difficult but it’s amazing if you stick to it. But it made me like get gluten free stuff, brown rice, salads, meats… etc. I still need to get toned up though. Include weight training.
