Wedding date November 12 2014. I hate talking about my weight because it embarrasses me, but being open is the first step in to getting to a good place. I’d love to say I’m happy in my skin, but I’m not 🙁 my fiancé loves me no matter what size but I want to look and feel great agan, and be a healthy role model for my 2 girls. I have yet to go dress shopping because I’m so scared to see what I look like in a dress.
I had my second daughter in December and topped out at my highest weight ever when pregnant with her. It was a wake up call. I never want to be anywhere near that weight again. Started weight watchers January first weighing 235lb (ouch) I’m 5’9″ I’m almost 3 months in and have lost 20lbs, I would love to be back to my weight before I got pregnant with my first daughter, but that just won’t happen before the wedding. 150 is a long way from 215. I will be happy to get down to 180. So a goal of 35-40 lbs will be my goal for the wedding.
Any other November brides out there trying to shed for the wedding? Let’s support each other. We can do this.

@Britterbee: I’m with you girl! I weigh about 135 and would like to be down about 15 pounds before the wedding, but I would take toning up for losing weight any day. I am also only 5’1″ so any weight I gain is beyond noticeable. Weight watchers has worked for SO many people I know and one of my friends actually lost 80 pounds on it within 9 months (also takes zumba classes). YOU CAN DO IT GIRL. We still have 8 months until November, set your goals high, work hard, and you will succeed 🙂

Britterbee: Not a November bride, waiting bee here. Just wanted to stop in and tell you great job so far! 20 lbs is a lot of weight. I’ve been thinking about joining weight watchers myself. I’m 5’2, so the BMI chart is not kind to me. I think its great that you want to be a role model for your girls. You’ve got time until November, you can do it! 🙂

Just a little behind you with my December 6th date… I’m 5’10” and my WW weigh-in today was 229. I’m proud to be down 18 lbs so far! I’m also a little scared that I just wrote this in a public forum, but it’s good to have the support of someone who was just at my weight and is moving forward so well!
You should be proud of your progress so far- that is great! I also love that your girls motivate you; I don’t have little ones yet, but I want to be a mom who can model healthy habits. Count me in for support!

Hello I’m 5″3 and currently weigh 108 pounds, however that was not the case, I used to weigh 145 pounds 3 years ago and for my height that made me very uncomfortable!
I took the decision in one day, I worked on my own diet, without exercising! I cut back on carbs and fats for the first month to kick start losing weight and then I integrated a bit of fats, no carbs for around 3-4 months, at that point I had lost around 22 pounds and from here on it became easy I just stopped having large dinners and integrated carbs in small amounts, mainly just in the morning and once a week I would allow myself to eat pasta of fried foods.
I hope that helps! Good luck! I’m sure you will look stunning on your wedding day anyways! 😀

November bride and Weight Watchers member here!! I’m getting married Nov 15 and am so excited. I’m 5’4″ and currently 175lbs although for some reason I look less. Must have been all the working out over the years. Idealling I’d like to get down to 160lbs for the wedding. I’m not unhappy at the weight I am now but I did gain 15 lbs back of the 55lbs I lost a few years ago. I’m down around 5lbs right now. I’m also standing in a wedding in July and would ideally like those 15 gone for then.
What’s everyone doing for activity? The gym just doesn’t work for me and its still too cold and slippery to walk outside. I started shallow water fitness with a friend (the July bride I’m standing for). We’re going twice a week and enjoying it.

I also do not look like I weigh what I do and for that I’m thankful, but I feel it. I do walk lots with my girls and do some at home workouts. Once my 3 month old starts sleeping better ( read: once I get a bit more sleep) I will start going to classes at my gym. I have a dress shopping appointment on the 29th. Hoping it goes well. Down another 4-5 lbs since first posting.
You ladies can totally do it, your goals are reasonable and you’re strong, beautiful women no matter what!!

I’m more focused on how many sizes I can drop instead of the weight. I’m only 5’2″ and I do not know if it’s bone mass or muscle weight, but my number in weight has always been higher than people would believe. When I was 16, I was a size 6/8 but weighed 140-150lbs. According to the BMI chart(which is more like a BS chart), I shouldn’t weigh more than 128 for an “ideal” weight. LOL, for my body type, I never foresee that happening. Currently, I weigh about 175, and am a size 12. I’d like to get down to a size 10 or so before my wedding. Trying to cut out as much sugar as possible and it’s not easy! 😀

Trying to lose 20 lbs myself! Here’s to November brides!

Nov 15 bride here! I got down from 205 to 185 over the past ~1 year. Lately the cold has made me yo-yo up from 181 to 185 due to lack of exercise and eating crap, and I’m not liking it!
My goal is to lose 20 lbs over the next 26 weeks (leaving time for alterations) by cutting down calories to 1500/day and starting to lift more aggressively again. This week I will start at 1 or 2 days a week, and by April be back to 3 days per week. I think while it is possible for me to lose 2 lbs+ per week through diet, I will be miserable so I am targeting ~0.75 lbs/wk.

Britterbee: I’m getting married November 7, 2014 and only recently began really trying to get back in shape. We got engaged in July and I told myself starting November 7 of THIS year, I was going to buckle down and give myself a full year to slim down tone up, but then the holidays came and went, I was inside with the snow all the time making chili and rich crock pot soups, it just wasn’t working!!
I think 7 months is a good amount of time personally to get to where I’d like to be. But what I did was buy a dress 2 months ago that looks good on me NOW. I didn’t want to guarantee that I’d lose the weight and have something that wasn’t going to flatter my current frame. Consider that when dress shopping!
PS I know how you feel, I opted not to get FREE engagement photos b/c I’m not happy with my weight!! Luckily my photog swapped that for Thank You cards 🙂
