If by supplements you mean vitamins, I take a multi vitamin and B12 supplement (I’m a vegetarian). I also recently started drinking vegan Shakeology after I started getting crazy bloated from my whey protein shakes. Other than that I don’t take supplements. One of my best friend’s Moms sells “It Works” and there is zero science to support it actually working. I’ve tried those weightloss pills that swell up and are supposed to decrease your appetite, but they’re terrible and made me feel super sick. I definitely recommend sticking to a clean (or mostly clean) eating plan and working out 🙂 If your doctor says you’re deficient in any vitamins or minerals, I would of course take a vitamin supplement for those or find out what foods naturally contain those things.

ucsadie:  Itworks did not work for me. I did for awhile use body by vi protein shakes and would replace my breakfast with it, then eat a small snack, lunch, snack and dinner. I did not eat any carbs after lunch, so dinner was fish or chicken with vegetables. I did  lose about 38 lbs in 6 months (Along with a personal trainer, I did cardio 3 x a week- spin class, and then lifted weights 3 x a week). Everything was great for awhile but then I kind of hit a plateau and then the holiday and next thing you know I am up 15 lbs. But i am determined to get back to it. With me I know my eating habits are what kills me. I get bored at work so I snack badly and at night I crave sugar like a junkie craves their drugs. So i am working on that too!

Stick with it. you will get there. I got excited last week because when I tried on dresses for easter I was down a whole size (no lbs lost though) Also my trainer told someone the other day that was complaining about not losing weight since she started that sometimes when you first start working out your appetite increases alot and you eat more. I have to keep my calories between 1200-1400 to lose weight anything else I just maintain, but other than gym I have a an office job so I don’t move around a lot.

I lost 30 pounds in a year with weight watchers. I fell off track a few times, but I’m positive it would’ve come off fast had I adhered to the program more strictly. It’s a great tool.

Im a big believer in weight training as well. That’s how you really change your body.

I’ve lost weight before by doing both weight training and cardio.

Right now I’m doing Zumba (hr) or stair climber (45 min) as cardio 4-5 times a week. Then I also weight train 5-6 times a week. I usually start off with no weight loss but after a month or so, the weight starts coming off. I weighed myself today after a month of working out and eating good and sure enough the scale is down!

For eating, I eat about 1600 calories a day. I start off with a big breakfast (2 eggs, whole wheat toast, and turkey sausage). I’ll eat a lighter lunch with limited good carbs then for dinner I eat just protein and veggies, no carbs. This works for me. Food is fuel!

I have a cheat day on Sunday’s. 😀 I have a heart rate monitor that helps me make sure I’m burning enough calories and keeping my heart rate up during workouts. My monitor actually tells me when Im in fat burning zone and when I’m in fitness mode. I love it and totally recommend it. It makes me so much more competitive (With myself!). I also take an everyday women’s vitamin and I use Advocares Spark for energy.
