Ive lost 13 pounds on weight watchers since January (5 more to goal weight) and have been taking very intense barre/pilates classes 4 times a week for the last month. I feel and look great and am so happy to be going into the summer!

MrsNebraska:  Whole30 is a really strict version of paleo. I think the only differences is that there is no sugar or dessert and you have to make an effort to keep your meals balanced with protein and vegetables. The website can explain it a lot better than I can: http://whole30.com/. The idea is that if you follow the plan for thirty days it will eliminate bloating and any issues with food you may have (Craving, allergies, etc) and promotes overall health with the added bonus of weight loss.

Hey all!  I gained like 15 pounds (!!!) after my wedding last summer… 118 to 135 on 5’5″ body… ok I guess that’s actually 17 pounds.  OMG.

Anyway, I’ve been back on the exercise and diet horse for about a month and a half and have lost 5 pounds  : D  I’m training for a couple half marathons in June, which has been GREAT motivation to work out.  Seriously, if you’re lacking motivation: sign up for a race, whether it’s a 5k “fun run” or something longer.

Good luck to yall, stay on track!

CanadianBride456:  re: drinking, my go-to for a low-cal drink at the bar is vodka, seltzer water, lime, and a little splash of sweet and sour mix.  At home I put some Splenda or something in place of the sweet and sour mix.  It’s basically calorie-free except for the actual liquor.

CanadianBride456:  Oh do I, lol.  Stay away from beer and mixed sugary drinks (margarita, mojito, cranberry and vodka, etc) PERIOD.  Lighter liquors (light tequila, vodka, gin, etc) tend to be lower calorie than darker liquors (whiskey, dark rum, etc) – but it’s not a HUGE difference.  Mix those with either seltzer water or diet soda for a quite low calorie drink (~100 cals per 1.5 oz shot/drink).  Wine is also not a bad option, although it’s somewhat higher cal than pure liquor.  White wine tends to be a bit lower in calories (~125 a glass) than red (~150 a glass) because of its somewhat lower alcohol content.

I discovered this website recently – pretty handy:  http://www.efficientdrinker.com/

Hi! I’ll join cause my thread kinda died 🙁

I started almost 4 weeks ago with working out, running most days of the week and weight lifting regularly (something I never did before). I started off at 165lbs, and am currently at 158lbs. I am looking much more toned, and am trying to get a little bulk going. My goal is 155lbs by 23 March, and to run as much as possible.

Obviously, I’m already married, so no slimming down to fit in my dress, but I do want to look good in my summer dresses this year!

I want to join!!! I am not getting married until July 2015, but I have gained a lot of weight at my new job (actually have been here for about 2 years now).  This new weight sucks!  The problem is a have a huge commute now and the hours are inconsistent, so by the time I get home all I want to do is chill (last thing on my mind is working out), and I get up wayyyy too early to even think about working out in the mornings (I’m not a morning person).  I just can’t seem to get motivated.  I did crossfit for about 4 months, but it’s just so expensive and my best friend stopped doing it with me.  Some days I am motivated and count calories and work out like crazy and then the next I just feel like crap and don’t care.  I would love to get back down to around 125!  Right now I am at 140 and I am 5′ 5″. 🙁  I know I can do it.  I am normally a very healthy person and very active, just this change over the past 2 years has been huge, plus I work at a medical clinic and we have patients and reps bring in junk food all the time!!!  I need some SERIOUS motivation.  Any tips?

Does anyone have a Fitbit or UP24?  I was thinking about getting one, but wondering if it is worth it.  Is it accurate?  I don’t think I can get a Fitbit though because my phone is the iPhone 4.

Najinc0122:  My mom has a fitbit and LOVES IT. She’s lost almost 24 lbs and attributes it to the fitbit. It’s a good motivation tool!

I’ll join too!!

I’ve just started counting calories and doing some light exercise. My SW was 167lbs, CW is 163.5lbs and GW is 135lbs. I weigh more now than I did when I was 9 months pregnant. AHH!! I’m excited to have some motivation from you ladies!

Anyone else using MFP? Add me!

I have a fit bit and love it. Having a desk job is tough and it reminds me that I need to move more. You can use it even if you have an iPhone 4. I did for months. You just have to sync it to your computer And it will auto sync if your computer is on and you are in the room.

I also have MFP if anyone wants to be “friends.” mrsmax14

Peaceoutboyscout:  I’m on MFP with the same username. In maintenance these days, so mostly track for macros and making sure I eat the right amount rather than to actually lose weight.

Najinc0122:  I have a FitBit Ultra and it is accurate as daily activity is concerned, although you need to add workouts separately.

A few days into this thread…..how are you ladies doing? I am probably not as devoted as I should be, but I am still feeling like I am down a bit. I weight in on Fridays, so we shall see in about 24 hours!

My job just started a biggest loser competition. We are on teams of 4 and have to enter our weight loss percentage each week into a shared spreadsheet. Tomorrow will be my “starting weight” and I hope this accountability will help me with my accountability.

Also, I just found out that I probably won’t have to travel for work the first two weeks of June! I normally travel everyweek, and the time at home will make eating healthier and working out more of a priority.

Current Weight: 147.5 lbs (last weeks weigh in)

Current Mood: Optimistic!
