Here I am a year ago…

I’ve lost about 27 pounds.  Struggling to get the last 20 off, but I can see a bit of a difference!

I also like to focus on 5 pound increments, which definitely helps make it feel more attainable.  you can do it!

Congrats on the weight you have lost! I was about 190 for our engagement pictures and now am down to 170, but I still would like to lose 20 more in 2 months. Probably not going to happen but I’m still going to try! It is really nice to feel better about yourself if nothing else!

@MissNachoLover:  Thanks 🙂 Though, honestly, what I’ve learned is that I always did 😉 …I think that’s important to understand. Your worth is dependant on who you are as a person…not a number on a scale. And you can be beautiful no matter WHAT size you are.

I’m dieting!!  And it’s SO FRIGGIN HARD.  I’m doing the updated version of the South Beach Diet.  I’m doing Phase 1, wihch is a 2-week no-carb introductory period.  I lost 8 1/2 lbs after my first two weeks and girl, 7 lbs isn’t “nothing” by any means.  It’s so hard every day.  I’m doing Phase 1 for 2 more weeks, because in the first book he said you can if you have a lot to lose.  I’d like to lose 30lbs total and 20 by my bday (8/24) and I have about 12 to go by then.  I’m 5’2 and started at about 144.6 lbs.  I’m 136.2lbs today.  I don’t have any before and after pictures, but I did before lose 25lbs and kept it off for TWO full years.  Work interfered with my health (I wasn’t able to eat all day, I wasn’t able to work out, etc) and I quickly gained 30lbs in a matter of less than 1 year.  Now, I’m back at it but it’s a constant struggle every day.  I’m with you on junk food and I love savory food.  I’m fine without sweets (unless I’m PMSing), but I LOVE food.  I have a pinterest account with a ton of low-carb recipes pinned and some healthy carb recipes (for when I can start adding carbs back in), if you want to follow me.. I will link a recipe I made last night that was DELICIOUS!  But, I know exactly what you mean when you say seeing before and afters is inspiring.  I will also link you to a pin that I pinned that takes you to this girl’s blog where she lost a ton of weight and looks AMAZING!  Pinterest is FULL of inspiration and motivation.

@inky_1:  Exactly.  I know that for me, feeling better and having more energy when I’m smaller is the best perk!
