Any bees think it’s worth it to get WW online? I need something to kick my ass into gear again. About a year and a half ago I managed to shed 20 pounds, but at my last check-up, it was all back on 🙁 I just want some real, honest opinions on if it helps a lot, or if it doesn’t, what works for you?

@colleenichole: I don’t actually use the etools (I do go to meetings). I use the message boards on the ww site and my fitness pal to track. MFP is free and the data base/scanner are WAY better than the ww etools (I’m Canadian, so maybe they’re better in the US. I don’t know.) Very few things scan properly here on the ww scanner.
That said, I follow the GHGs they promote, use the routines/spaces ideas, etc. I attend meetings faithfully. I’m just not a fan of the online tracker/phone app. It’s just not user friendly.
So I’d say no to the online tools. You could check out myfitnesspal for free for a while to see how it goes and save yourself the 30 bucks a month. (If meetings are possible for you, they’re only 50 a month for the monthly pass here and I find I get way more out of them than online.)
I’ve been a ww member on and off either online or at meetings since 2003. I’ve tried both for long stints of time. I was always much more successful at the meetings. And I’m proud to say I’ve never gained back all my weight. I have gained some during stressful and happy life periods, but never the full amount. I usually catch myself now when I’m up 15 – 20 above goal. It’s better than the 80 I went up (and lost) after my accident.

I did try My Fitness Pal a bit before, but I never got into the habit of keeping up with it all the time. Probably because adding up everything seemed like too much work haha. But WORK is exactly what I need! If the tools available through MFP’s app, that sounds like a better option for me. Only because I know I’d have to travel for meetings and I have a weird work schedule.

My little sister is down 25 lbs. I really like the WW program. Im to the point where I don’t need to lose any more but I’ve been able to maintain for years now because I continue to use the WW principles. Great recipes too! I honestly think my best weight loss secret is cooking more. That way, you know exactly what is in your food.

I love WW online! It really does work. Online is the easiest and most convenient for me as I don’t like attending meetings. Give it a try! When I stuck to it I lost 35 pounds! I need to get back to doing it again!

WW online requires the same commitment to keeping it up. I just find there are way more resources available for MFP than WW. I’m definitely not knocking the WW program. I just wish their database was better and their etools were more user friendly.
Either program is going to take some work. I completely understand having weird work hours. I work long days (12 hours) on a non-conventional schedule (rotating shifts, overnights, etc.) And it’s busy and high stress the entire 12 hours. I can eat, eat, eat when I get a moment of downtime. I need a reminder that I’m done, even if I want to eat. And I grab veg for snacks when I’m munchy – like the 0 point veggies, even if it sends me over my cals for the day.

I’m doing WW but didn’t sign up online or for meetings. A friend of mine shared lots of free WW resources, like this calculator:
You won’t get the WW resources, but I google lots of WW points and find lots of things for free on the internet.

i love WW and it works! i pay for the online membership since i’m too busy to go to meetings and it’s so beneficial for me.
