This is Step 1 for me…
I’ve reached my limit and I’m officially OVER myself! My weight gain has spiraled out of control and I no longer feel “me” in my own skin. Three years ago, I was content with my size 12/14 body. Now, I’m a size 18/20 and I don’t like the way I feel. I’m two years postpartum and I’m heavier today than I was the night I went into labor. Truth is, I am about 50 pounds heavier than I was in December of 2007, the month my daughter was conceived.
I don’t treat myself to cute clothing anymore because I’m uncomfortable wearing anything but tees and jeans. Sleeveless items? Never! At family events, when the cameras are floating around, I either request “from the neck up” photos or duck all together. I took my daughter to her first ballet lesson last week and Darling Husband was there to photograph the special moment. I was horrified with myself when he emailed the photos to me.
It’s time for a change… I’m in no way implying that I don’t think full figured women are beautiful. I simply do NOT carry my weight well at all and I’m ready to slim down a bit. I’m not asking for my high school size 5s back, I’m simply looking to regain my self esteem. If I make it back to a size 12, I will be one happy camper!
I want to have more family photos. I want to walk into the clothing store and try on outfits that catch my eye instead of thinking to myself,”Yeah right, I can’t rock that.” Most of all, I’m ready to establish a healthy lifestyle that I can share with myself and my family. I have an amazing husband and a beautiful little girl to live for. I’m 24 years old and ready to take back my life!
With that being said, I’m ready to sign up for WW Online. I have been wanting to sign up for several weeks but for whatever reason (monetary or fear), I’ve been putting it off. Now is my time!
Please share with me your basic foods. When you wake up in the morning, what do you usually eat? Any easy lunch and dinner ideas? What about snacks?
Do you work out regularly?
I’m pretty “on the go” every morning, whether I’m headed to work at 6AM or I’m chasing my toddler around the house. Ideal breakfast items include yogurt, granola, fruit, eggs, toast, or cottage cheese.
For lunch, again, easy is my best friend. Soups and sandwiches, salads, light meals…
For dinner, I’m usually on my own with the little one because my husband works evenings. Nonetheless, I’d like to start making wholesome dinners that we can all enjoy even if we don’t eat together. What are your favorite “throw together” dinners?
What about exercise? I know plenty of women on WW that don’t exercise and still see success. However, I’d like to have some weekly exercise in order to gain strength and endurance. I’m going to cancel my gym membership (I never go) and replace that bill with my WW membership. We have a spare room in our house that we are converting to a workout room. I would like to buy some workout DVDs to use in our room until I’m able to afford the cost of a treadmill or elliptical. I’ve been eyeing the Shred and recently saw another Bee post about her success with Pilates. Any recs for DVDs?
That’s about it for now. Thanks for your support, ladies!
