I have to chime in in favor of WWOnline. It really helps me. Yes, the recipes are online and you can use them, but with WWO you are more accountable for your points. I’m also in love with my WW iPhone app. It’s great when I’m out and need to find something that won’t kill the diet.

1 vote for WW! (P.S. – You should make this a poll)

I kind of have to agree about WW online as well… I personally went to meetings because I needed that accountability… but at least online there are message boards similar to the Bee (even some for brides to be) and other resources. Also, if you have any questions or need encouragement etc. feel free to email me ([email protected]) I work as a receptionist for WW as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

I just want to clarify though that while I do work for WW that is not my primary job and I did not join weddingbee to promote it in any way. I was purely speaking from experience with the program and I am really getting married this year.

I think if you need help or motivation, then you should go with WW (I’ve never used it).  I have had a few nutrition classes and with the help of a personal trainer before I have a good idea of what I should eat on my own so I don’t need guidance from a website.  It is great to have people to be accountable to though so that they know what you are doing and you feel bad if you fail at it!

I’m MUCH more accountable when I’m using WW – so I say splurge for that.

I am also going to add in another vote for WW. My mom lost/kept off 50lbs for my wedding (6 months ago), and I have maintained the 10 I lost for my own wedding. It’s an amazing program and a balanced way to eat and live.

WW.  All the way.  I started on Halloween and my wedding is late March.  I didn’t have a lot to lose but it’s been so easy and the weight is really dropping.  I’m wearing jeans I haven’t worn in two years and I feel great!!

I go to meetings AND use the online tools.  I refuse to weigh myself at home and prefer the accountability of using the WW scale inside of their four walls.  I also enjoy the food ideas/suggestions that I get at the meetings.  And there’s something about hearing those inspirational stories live that really does motivate me to stick with it.

And by the way… I work out maybe once a month.  When forced.  I’m totally not an exercise person so I knew trying some of crazy, new, work out regime would never last.  But that’s just me.

How you go about it really depends on your own will power.  Be honest with yourself.  If you feel like you can keep yourself motivated I say DIY all the way.  If you need the extra encouragement and accountability, then I think WW is a fantastic idea.

P.S. This is my first time on WW, too.  It’s MUCH better than what I expected.  There are several new moms in my meetings.  They are so cute chatting together, like a little support group within our group.  ๐Ÿ™‚

I would say if you feel like you want that extra push and motivation to be accountable each month, then WW is the way to go. The great thing about WW is that it teaches you healthy eating habits that you can keep for life–it’s not one of those fad diets where you gain all the weigh back as soon as you start eating normally. So I think WW is good to get you going, and then after a while, you’ll become accustomed to making healthier choices and being more conscious of portion control, etc.

By The Way, if that’s your daughter in your avatar, she’s ADORABLE! ๐Ÿ™‚

I starved to death trying to do Weight Watchers and only lost a few pounds. Then I switched to just counting calories and calculating my BMR and I lost twenty pounds! I know that Weight Watchers works for a lot of people and it is great to use as reference, but you definitly can lose weight without it!
