I rejoined and started the new program yesterday. I just can’t get over how many points I have. Despite most foods going up, I feel like I have to eat a ton to get to my DPT. I think this is because when I am actually committed to WW, I love eating tons of veggies and fruit, which are now all free.

So, I am trying my best to figure out how to eat my points while still feeling happy about what I am eating. Today I made Chicken Mushroom Barley soup and some whole grain bread. We are having spaghetti for dinner.

I also went dancing with my friends last night, and that was 8 AP’s, so I am feeling very good about my first two days back OP.

I joined a week ago and love the new point system. (I did Weight Watchers back in 2007 with the different point system) I love the free fruit points!! I’ve been having an apple, orange or grapefruit and banana every day. Love how that equals 0 points. 🙂

It would probably be about 3 days worth of points! LOL

Yep, bananas would be better with some ice cream and hot fudge on the side. hehe

I posted in another weight watchers thread the other day a recipe my co-worker gave me last week right after I started the plan. I haven’t tried it yet, but plan to this week after I go grocery shopping tomorrow after work. You slice up apples, sprinkle cinnamon on them and heat them in the microwave for about 40 seconds. Then you top them with some fat-free whipped cream. She said it’s yummy. I’m going to try it. Check out Skinny Taste for recipes if you haven’t already. Other Bees mentioned the site a few days ago and I’ve been checking out the website today and there are awesome recipes (weight watchers) on there!!

Be careful not to abuse the fruit (we talked about this at our last meeting)…it is possible to make yourself gain weight by eating too many fruits and veggies…eat until your satisfied and eat the fruit in portions…my leader said “don’t abuse the fruit or they’ll take it away from us” lol.

But I’m loving it too.  My first week on the program (I’ve been with WW since august and this is my second time) and my first week with the new plan I lost 3.6 – so I think I’m doing well.

@karatechick27: “don’t abuse the fruit or they’ll take it away from us”   LOL

How much fruit and veggies are considered too much, do you think? I have a banana on my cereal in the morning, an apple as an afternoon snack and an orange or grapefruit after dinner each night. Are three pieces considered too much? I am not a big vegetable fan, so I don’t have many veggies (wish I liked them more!) so I only have about one serving a day. But I plan to start adding a few more per day. I need to find some vegetable recipes that I like.

I rejoined Thursday night, and to be honest it’s so weird! I feel like I’m eating way too much, even though I’m counting carefully and double checking and everything! How could it be possible to lose weight if you eat the dailies and then all the weekly points on top of that? Seems like so much!

Our leader is near 60, I’d say, and quite petite. She was on the plan all December. She said she had a ball, loved eating so much more than she’d been used to, and ws 5lb under her Goal weight at the end of the month. Before the new plan, she’d been struggling to stay at Goal. So I guess it does work, I just can’t figure out how lol!!

Fingers crossed we all get good results this week.

@Jenn23: Our leader told us to eat as much fruit as you want, within decent limits. As in, not eating five bananas and a basin of fruit salad.

@aunt pol: Thanks! Yep, I’m eating (snacking at least) every few hours and feel full almost all the time. I can’t believe I can eat all this food and I’ve lost almost 5 lbs since I started less than a week ago. Now I know I won’t continue to lose that much each week after the first week, but even if I can lose 2 lbs. per week and eat all this food, that’ll be awesome! Good luck this week. 🙂

@Jenn23: Thanks chick! Wow well done you, that’s brilliant!!

I ate like a horse today, but not that much of it was fruit, so I made a large dent in my weekly points – I’m going to try to ignore the remaining 15 now and hopefully it works out! It’s just so weird, every other time I’ve counted points, (the old plan), I’ve been very aware of every single point, and being so miserly with them trying to stretch them out! This generosity is really strange! Voodoo, I tells ya!

@aunt pol: “Ate like a horse…”  LOL Well, last night I ate like a pig.  I went out to dinner last night and let’s just say I didn’t pick the healthiest thing on the menu. LOL I only had to use half of the weekly points, though. I decided last night that Saturdays are going to be my weekly “treat days”. I’ll have a yummy lunch or dinner. Will give me something to look forward to all week. 🙂

@Jenn23:That’s a good idea. It would be easy to fritter the weeklies away on a choc bar here, glass of wine there, but at least if you load it all or most into Sat night you know exactly what you did with them

Everyone at my meeting was going cuckoo over being able to eat Bananas. Turns out most people have been avoiding them since they were a higher point fruit. Minneapolis grocery stores better have bananas in stock.

For a quick second I got excited thinking that free fruit meant 0 point All Fruit Jamba Juice, until I checked their menu and saw that even the All Fruit is made up of mostly juice. Laaame.
