155 for someone who is 5’8 is a perfectly healthy weight. I wiould think you should be putting most of your focus on toning – weights/pilates/yoga. And building muscle. To build muscle you need to eat, lots of protein. You should probably be eating closer to 1600 calories – make them “clean foods” and avoid processed foods. You don’t want your body to go into starvation mode…. then it’ll store fat.

http://www.younglifenorthdekalb.com/fitness/bmr_meal_calculator.php  I really like this calculator to make sure you’re geting the right amount – it gives you some good ways to lose weight.

I also like the LoseIt app for tracking calories/exercise/weight/measurements.

And I love Blogilates videos for my at-home workouts. She puts out a monthly calendar with a workout plan every month. She also has some meal plans on her website.

amberback:  That is the best calculator I’ve seen!! Love the broken down meal size chart and stuff. Too cool.

Dainty.doll.13:  I’d be just trying to tone up. Make an inches goal, not pounds. Pounds are not the best weigh to measure fitness or thinness. Eat well, circuit train. 7 months is plenty of time to tone up.

I am also trying to lose weight, but only have 8 weeks left.  January 1 I was 180, today I am 157, give or take.  In 2.5 months, I lost almost 25lb. and hope to lose another 15-20 in the next 8 weeks doing low carb dieting (would LOVE to be 135-139 for the wedding day).

I work out 6 days a week for about an hour to an hour and a half daily.  I incorporate circuit training with strength, cardio and abs – 3 days in the gym, and 3 days at home.  Always doing cardio to warm up, and move to weights afterwards.  Diet wise I could have been slightly better with, so I’m trying low carb again for a bit. I tend to lose a lot fast on that.  Also, stay away from sodium! I immediately noticed how much weight I lose from reducing my sodium.
