I just had the weirdest thing happen, and thought I might share…
A month ago I went to the doctor to get a new birth control prescription. I hadn’t been on BC for awhile, so they had me give a urine sample for a pregnancy test just in case. So I did, and they had me wait for the results, which I finally got from the nurse, who gave me a verbal “negative.” Well, that was surprisingly a relief, considering I didn’t suspect I was pregnant in the least. And then life carried on, as it does.
Jump forward to a couple days ago, and I get a call from my health insurance. The lady said they were notified of a change in my health status, that I was pregnant. I nearly died of shock, and told her so. I told her about the test being negative, and she said it might have been a mix-up in communication, but it freaked me out!
I just called my doctor and had them confirm that the preganacy test was negative, which it was. But I’m still so confused! How did my health insurance take a negative test and turn it into a positive one? It’s kind of a big deal, I’m surprised they aren’t more careful!
