I wouldn’t stay over someplace if I didn’t pack my own things (I wear contacts and stuff) and I would always pack my own toiletries, including shampoo/conditioner just because I prefer my brand. However I wouldn’t mind if someone used my shampoo or conditioner if they stayed over. I don’t think it’s a big deal.

My guest bath has towels, soap, shampo, toothpaste. etc for guests to use. I do not care what or how much they use, nor do I consider this stealing. If guests want to bring/use their own stuff (I always do, I have ~special hair~) then I don’t care either way. I keep stuff there so people don’t have to ask me to use anything, and so they don’t have to run to the drug store or worry about their liquids on a plane either.

I keep the guest baths stocked, so I hope people use the toiletries provided. When I go somewhere I bring my own hair stuff, lotion and face creams (I am so particular with all my goops, as my husband calls them) but I certainly use soap, and may use shampoo and conditioner if the host specifically mentions it’s ok.

I pretty much always use the host’s products. Then again I also never really stay over anywhere where I’m not SUPER close to the host.

I keep the guest bathroom in our house stocked with travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. (I collect these from hotels) and don’t mind if people use them… that’s why they’re there.
